Is Oliver Stark actually a “Buddie” shipper?!
911’s Oliver Stark who plays “Evan Buckley” has sparked fan frenzy yet again when he mentioned in an interview that “Buddie” (ship name of Stark’s Evan Buckley and Ryan Guzman’s Eddie Diaz). Regarding Buck’s bisexuality, Stark admitted that the storyline was pitched to him a couple of years ago but it was “shut down from somewhere else above”, which would likely mean a higher executive of the show’s former home, Fox.
Regarding the fan interest in the ~imaginary~ (for now) ship “Buddie”, Stark agrees that there might be something to it. In an interview with Gay Times, he says, “I see what everybody else sees. Like, I watch the same show. I don’t think that the Buddie fans are wrong. So, I decided this year that I wanted to possibly lean into some kind of sexual awakening for Buck, anyway. When the storyline was brought to me by Tim Minear, who writes the show, it was like, ‘Great! I was gonna do that anyway. Good to know we’re all on the same page.’”
