Buckle up, because our Buck has something to say!
First-responder series ‘911’ just showed that fan-favorite character, Evan Buckley, is canonically bisexual in the latest and 100th episode of the series. Oliver Stark, the actor who plays the bisexual Buck, posted on his Instagram page a selfie with the caption of how thankful he is that the fans stuck by the story.
Although a lot of fans, mostly queer viewers, lauded the show and the actors, there will be bound to be homophobic viewers who comment on the actor’s social media pages on dropping their show because of this storyline. This prompted Stark to post on his Instagram story.
Oliver Stark addresses homophobic backlash to his ‘9-1-1’ character Buck coming out as bisexual:

“If you are one of the smaller group of people commenting on my posts about how this has ruined the show. I would like you to know that I truly don’t care. This is a show about love and inclusion. It’s featured queer relationships from the very beginning including a beautiful Black lesbian marriage played out by two of the best actresses l’ve ever watched. If one other character finding a new facet to his sexuality and realising his bisexuality is your deal breaker – I fear you’ve missed the entire point of the show. You are not required to announce your departure.
