It seems like karma is about to bite someone in the butt.
Hollywood producers have reportedly been eyeing legal action against ’Joker’ star Joaquin Phoenix for exiting Todd Haynes’ explicit gay film.
Earlier this week, the 49-year-old actor was announced to have quit the film due to getting “cold feet” despite writing the screenplay for the gay love story with Haynes and Jon Raymond. Phoenix left the film five days before filming started despite having sets already finished in Guadalajara where the filming was supposed to occur.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter wrote that producers are reportedly seeking to sue the actor with sources citing examples of actors being held accountable for leaving films without its stars throughout Hollywood history such as Kim Basinger in 1993 for the movie ‘Boxing Helena’ and Bruce Willis for the unfinished Disney film ‘Broadway Brawler.’
