Taiwanese filmmaker Yu Han Ting returns with his latest LGBTQIA+ narrative feature, ‘See You (為我辦一場西式的喪禮)’, set to premiere this October.
On September 10, the Taiwan-based streaming platform CATCHPLAY announced the release of the film, which will debut on October 25 with a runtime of 104 minutes.
‘See You’ is a coming-of-age tale infused with magical realism, based on the winning script from the 2021 Excellent Screenplay Awards. The film stars Matt Kou and Yang Jhou Ray and is produced by Screenworks Asia (影響原創影視股份有限公司), a joint venture between CATCHPLAY and the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), aiming to create content for international audiences.
Yu Han Ting, acclaimed for his previous works ‘Summer Solstice’ and ‘Humming Memory’—the latter earning him the Best Director award at the 2020 Golden Harvest Awards—directs this film. The cast includes Mimi Shao from ‘Your Name Engraved Herein’, Li Zhen Hao, Joseph Huang from ‘Dear Ex’, and Chan Tzu Hsuan from ‘The Post-Truth World’, all contributing depth in portraying the complex inner struggles of youth and personal growth.
