‘The Lost Ring’ is a short Vietnamese BL series about a boy who just wants to earn a living and survive his college year. But as the housekeeper of an annoying boss, Quan, will he survive? Or just give up and find a new job to continue his college year.

Cot is a third-year student majoring in International Relations at HUFLIT. He’s also one of the excellent students in school, always getting awards. He’s a neat person. After class, he got absorbed in housework like cooking, hanging up the laundry, and mopping the floor. Doing these chores was his job. He’s the exclusive housekeeper of Mr. Quan, his 25-year-old boss. Until now, he had no idea what his boss was doing, even his work. Just coming home every night and making a mess. Not closing the door while doing a bath, but truly, Cot was not complaining. He’s just enjoying seeing his boss bareback, complimenting that Quan is attractive and in good shape. But don’t get him wrong; he’s working to earn a living and not to check out guys.

One night, Cot was sitting on the stairs while eating some fruits when his boss came home drunk. He immediately helped Quan stand up and asked why he was so drunk, but Quan just tapped his cheeks and called him darling, then proceeded upstairs to his room. Cot just signed and followed Quan to his room. He picked up some clothes that Quan had messed up on the floor. Suddenly, his Boss stood up and hugged him. Drunk, asking Cot why he had turned him down. Cot asks what’s the matter with him, requesting to get his hands off. But Quan didn’t stop talking, asking why he couldn’t accept him even though he did everything he wanted. Quan even asked him to tell him what he wanted. Cot realized what was happening, so he told the drunken Quan that he was not his lover. Quan, still gripping Cot, asked if he loved him, but the other shouted back a no and finally pushed him to bed. Cot picked up the clothes from the floor again, but Quan stopped him. Holding his other arm, Quan put the ring on Cot’s finger. Cot was so confused. After Quan put the ring on, he stood up and squished Cot’s cheeks, saying he accepted the ring and begged not to turn him down again. Cot is caught off guard when Quan kisses him. He pushed him hard and rubbed his mouth. Trying to remove the ring, he scolded Quan, saying that he was so drunk that he was mistaken for Quan’s ex. Quan just replied that finally, the ring found his owner.

The next morning, Quan woke up to the alarm and received a message from Cot that he would be going to work late because he had an exam to do. He just signed and started to prepare himself after being sober last night. While fixing his sleeves, he saw the ring box on the floor and picked it up, realizing that there was no more ring inside. He started panicking and searching all the areas of his house. He even called Cot, but the latter didn’t answer the call since he was inside the class. Meanwhile, Cot was writing the lesson when the ring suddenly got his attention. He signed and tried to remove the ring from his finger, which he successfully did. He put it in his pocket and continued to write the lesson. Going home late as he texted Quan this morning, instead of greeting him, his boss immediately asked him, Where’s the ring? He’s ready to give it to him, but Quan starts accusing him of being desperate for money and needing to steal his ring. Cot got pissed with Quan’s wrong accusations, so instead of giving back the ring, he threw it directly at his boss. He was fighting for himself because he didn’t do anything wrong, and he said that he would quit his job and grab his bag, leaving his boss immediately.

Quan called Cot, asking if he saw his flash drive, but he immediately dropped the call. Quan saw the CCTV in the cabinet and realized how he would find the flash drive without asking Cot. He found the drive under his bed. He suddenly thought to watch the recording of what happened the other night, only to find out that Cot was telling the truth. He felt so guilty, so he immediately texted Cot to say sorry and apologize for what happened. He asked Cot to go back to work, but the boy said no. The next day, Quan tried again, but Cot didn’t go back as his houseworker, so he’s the one who cleaned his house. After a long day, Quan, being tired, just eats outside because no one will cook for him. The day had passed, and while Quan was busy watching, someone rang the bell, and he already had an idea who that was. Cot showed a receipt of his paid tuition fee and asked Quan why he did that. He even offered that he would pay half since he hasn’t gotten a job yet, but Quan insisted that he wanted Cot to get back to work instead and keep the money. He agreed with Quan’s decision, but on one condition: he didn’t want to see Quan’s face for 24 hours. He put a mask on his boss’s face and started cleaning the whole house. As they were busy, someone rang the bell, and it was Quan’s ex. She gave him the wedding invitation and explained why she turned him down. As the girl exited, Quan told Cot that he wanted to be alone, but they ended up drinking beer. Another few days and weeks have passed, and their contract will end in five days. Quan offered Cot an extension, but the boy declined, saying he didn’t want to see his boss’s annoying face again. Quan felt sad after hearing that from Cot. For Quan, he wanted their days left to be memorable, so he grabbed Cot and went to the shopping mall. They spent the day well.

While Cot was cleaning the glass door, he suddenly asked his boss why he became neat because it was unusual. He also asked if he had found a new housekeeper because it was his last day. Quan told him that he hadn’t found the ring yet, so the end of the contract was invalid. Cot searched for the ring all over. While looking under the bed, Quan hugged his back. Telling Cot that he wanted him to be his housekeeper forever. He turned Cot to face him and show that he had found the ring and realized he had fallen in love already. Quan confessed that he wanted to be with Cot, putting the ring on him, and they ended up kissing each other.

‘The Lost Ring’ is just a typical hate-love troupe story, but if you will watch and appreciate it, you will see what a man can do to keep you by his side. Quan and Cot’s Story is just an example of relationships that, no matter what your status, rich or poor, if you feel the love, you will love.
