BL pairings tend to come and go over the years. Some have stood the test of time, like TayNew shocking the BL world with their ‘Cherry Magic’ comeback, or OffGun still going strong with countless new series even after years of being paired together on-screen.
This is especially true with Thai BL’s CP culture, where screen pairings tend to have multiple projects together instead of stopping at one BL series. Other pairings, however, did not share the same fate. Here’s an unordered list of 5 BL pairings that unfortunately are now just as extinct as the dinosaurs.

1. OhmNanon
Ohm Pawat and Nanon Korapat’s friendship started long before their BL series, ‘Bad Buddy’, going back to their days on the set of ‘Blacklist’. The two quickly grew close and were really excited to do ‘Bad Buddy’ together. Unfortunately, whether by their own choice or their management’s, the two have since been separated, with Ohm having a new BL partner in Lengso Thanapon and Nanon seeming to switch his focus to his music career. Some fans believe that a rift between the two actors was already evident during the promotional period for ‘OurSkyy 2 X Bad Buddy’ and ‘My Precious’, a movie with both actors in its cast, as according to them, the two seemed to avoid interacting as much as they used to. With no official details, however, we can only speculate on what happened.
2. PangPang
In the middle of the pandemic, the series ‘Gaya Sa Pelikula’ was a source of comfort as well as entertainment for many fans of Pinoy BL. It also gave us the PangPang tandem consisting of Ian Pangilinan and Paolo Pangilinan (no relation). After a controversial issue involving the series’ writer, it was reported by MJ Felipe that the cast and crew wanted to re-write the second season as a team, with executive producer Quark Henares further clarifying that Paolo Pangilinan wanted to continue the series.
It then came as a surprise to many that Paolo later tweeted that there would be no PangPang or ‘Gaya Sa Pelikula’ content for him in the foreseeable future. With no further updates since then, it seems this ship has sunken like the Titanic for good.
3. BrightWin
Following their hit series ‘2gether’ and its sequel ‘Still 2gether’, as well as their ‘Side By Side’ concert tour, it seemed that nothing could stop the duo of Bright Vachirawit and Win Metawin. However, Bright eventually decided to leave GMMTV to start his own company by the name of Cloud9 Entertainment. Since he is no longer under the same company as Win, chances of a project for the two of them together seem slim, though given that they still seem to be on good terms (and VERY good friends), at least it isn’t completely out of the question!
4. MikeToptap
Similarly to BrightWin, Mike Chinnarat and Toptap Jirakit also rose to fame through their roles in ‘2gether’. However, some fans claim to have noticed them avoiding or ignoring each other throughout the promotional period of ‘Still 2gether’. Regardless of whether those observations were accurate or not, the pairing has not had any new projects in quite a long time, so it unfortunately does seem that this ship has sunk as well.
5. MewGulf
Mew Suppasit and Gulf Kanawut began the MewGulf tandem with the 2019 series ‘TharnType’. After a while, however, activity from the pairing began to dwindle and the two stopped working with each other, though many fans still held onto hope for new projects. Some fans, however, took things to the next level and began theorizing that the two were a real couple outside of their work. Sometime later, however, Mew clarified that everything between them was fan service and that he did not intend to lead fans on and make them believe that he and Gulf were really in a relationship. Some people then used this to accuse him of queerbaiting, a term typically used for fictional characters who are made to appear queer despite being cisgender and heterosexual, to which he responded through another tweet.
With all that being said, it seems that the time for this pairing has come to an end, though they certainly will be missed by their fans.
