After meeting a shaman in the town, the five friends believed she might help them return to Seoul. However, they were kidnapped and made to find Yeri, the girl they had met that evening. What will happen to them now that an unidentified man has abducted them once more? In “Close Friend S3: Soju Bomb,” the fifth episode, let’s find out.

Episode 5.

After Dunk pressed something on the stand he found, the whole theme park lit up, and they were kidnapped again. He dreamed of kissing all his bandmates, and when everyone woke up, they were shocked to see the unfamiliar place. The fish bowl was still with them, but the auntie who was handcuffed with Earth was gone. A moment later, they were all stunned when they saw the auntie coming down the stairs with an unfamiliar old man. Best asks the man who he is, and the latter laughs and says that he was disappointed they didn’t remember him.

The old man left, and when he came back, they were all surprised when they saw them dressed in theme park clothes with a rainbow wig. They suddenly remembered that he was also the homeless guy they met that night at the theme park. The old man gave them food and drinks that made them drunk until they passed out. When they ask who he is, he says he is CEO Sumsang, the CEO of the largest company in Korea. He even called them his soju bomb friends, as he says he misses them. As they didn’t remember anything about that night, they asked the CEO what happened after they got drunk.

He told them that he occasionally escapes his chaotic life and sneaks out for a drink at the amusement park. He ran into all of them, and they had a blast on the rooftop. After all of them got drunk, he continued drinking alone and said that he was happy that the night was unforgettable. He told them that they continued drinking at his place. He apologized for drugging them on the way there, as his place was a top secret. Best asked him about their tattoos and passports, and he said all he knows is that their tattoos were the key to finding their passports, and he thought that it was just in that place.

Earth was still curious, so he asked what his relationship was with the old lady. He then told them that on their drunken night, Je was hugging a photo of his mother that he hadn’t seen for a long time. He doesn’t know where she is, and the fish bowl is his only memory of her. Everyone cried with him, and as they pitied the CEO, they decided to look for his mother, and Dunk brought the fish bowl. While on the road, they saw a sign for Busan village, so they went there, and there they met the old lady. The CEO thanked them, and he got the chance to meet his mother again because of them.

The CEO also told them that she was raised by two mothers. The old lady confessed that she is part of the LGBTQ+ community. Earth comforted their auntie, as he knew her struggles because society wasn’t accepting them back then. The CEO says that, up until this day, there are still people who find it unacceptable. Win felt awkward, so he excused himself. The CEO and his mother followed Win to comfort him. He told him at first that he also felt awkward about having two mothers as people gossiped about them, but his parents persevered and did their best to raise him. Even though their social status caused them to become estranged, the love and happiness she gave him were the real deal.

Win asks the old lady if she is happy, and she says that if she could turn back time, she would love her partner again, and she wouldn’t give up and run away like she did. Win went back to his friends and awkwardly confessed that he kissed one of them. Everyone giggles as they say that he kissed all of them. They told him that he lost in a game they played, so he had to kiss everyone. They all teased him and made Win feel at ease. After the fun, they thought about their tattoos and passports again. When Au looked up, he realized that they went to a room upstairs, where they got their tattoos.

They found a big map hanging on the wall of the room, and when they checked on their tattoos, it was the same on the map. When they looked closely, they saw a red spot on Dunk’s back and realized that maybe it was the location of their passports. The CEO gave them a farewell party that night. The next day, they were on the bus going back to Seoul when Win confessed to Dun that he was afraid that the kiss might affect their friendship, but Dunk assured him that they would always be friends. But still, he doesn’t know if he might like him in the future. Au and Earth teased and said that watching them was like watching a drama.

They arrived at Itaewon and started looking for their passports. Best receives a message from Soo Young, so he calls her and apologizes for not answering her calls. He was surprised when the latter asked them if they had already practiced for their audition, as they didn’t know about it. He was shocked when Soo Young said that she told Earth about it, and maybe he didn’t tell them. Everyone was shocked when he punched Earth in the face and told them about the audition. All of them were confused when Earth admitted that he meant to keep it from all of them.

They gradually discover what actually happened to them that night of intoxication as their search progresses. That evening at the theme park, they encountered a lonely CEO who turned out to be their kidnapper. The CEO’s long-lost mother was the elderly woman shackled to Earth. Win received support from the CEO and the old lady during his identity problem. They also discovered that the locations of their passports were plotted on a map in their tattoos. When they realize that Earth has not informed them about the audition, what will come to them? Can they actually make their big debut? Or, in this case, are they going home at last?
