Episode 10.
Minato went to Tsuge’s house for another delivery and told him that he had seen his book at the bookstore. He told him he liked the story, and he praised him for being a real author. Minato asks him if there’s a trick to sticking with something for a long time, and he says that imagining the faces of his readers without an audience is nonsense. Minato was surprised by what he said. Tsuge also praised him for making it to the finals of his dance audition. The younger man happily told him that the audition has a major sponsor and will also be streamed, and one of his idols will be the judge.
Adachi didn’t sleep that night. Kurosawa’s voice is still ringing in his ears. He remembers everything that happened that night. He went to talk to Tsuge and ask for some advice. It’s his fault that he didn’t tell Kurosawa that he rejected the offer for fear of hurting him, and the latter can’t read his mind like them. Tsuge also told him that he’s been worried about him for a while. His friend told him that he’s kind but puts it negatively because he has so little self-esteem. And because he hears the thoughts of someone, he’ll probably end up acting like they’re fulfilling their desires without realizing it.
Adachi realizes that his friend is right; at some point, he’s relying on his power too much. Even if he can read Kurosawa’s mind, he’ll never get anywhere unless he tells him how he truly feels. But even though he knows he has to tell his boyfriend everything, that night was the first time he experienced such messy feelings from him. When he tried to express his message through text, Tsuge told him another way. Minato gave his all during the audition as his idol was judging them, but they all failed, his idol says he had skills, but that’s all. Tsuge texted him to console him while his friends came to also support him.
They told him he still had skills and would help him win the audience vote. But Minato thinks it’s time to quit. That night, one of his friends called him and offered him an office job. His friend told him that he supported his dancing dreams, but he thought maybe he could at least meet the company president. The next day, Minato met the company manager, and he felt comfortable at first glance. Tsuge receives a call from Minato saying he doesn’t have to come to his audition. His bike runs out of gas, and he’s still far from the station, doubting that he’ll make it in time.
