‘Love Out Loud’, or ‘LOL’ for short, is GMMTV’s yearly concert showcasing the company’s various BL couples and their musical talents. This year’s theme for ‘LOL Fan Fest 2024’ is “The Love Pirates” and along with this theme is a song and music video that perfectly complements it! Let’s take a look.
The music video features the nine couples of the concert, namely JimmySea, ForceBook, PondPhuwin, EarthMix, GeminiFourth, FirstKhaotung, WinnySatang, PerthChimon, and JoongDunk. Each of these pairings gets its verse, with scenes in the music video highlighting the chemistry between them, both in terms of how well they play romantic partners and how good they sound together. They all even appear in full pirate costumes to fit the theme, along with the pirate ships serving as the settings for the video.
The song itself has a tempo that’s on the slower side but is still fast enough to get a crowd excited at the upcoming concert. The melody is quite romantic, too, which matches the story told in the lyrics about how these pirates travel the world looking for treasure, but the real treasure is the person they’re singing with. The parts assigned to each of the actors also do quite a good job of highlighting their respective musical talents, such as Gemini Norawit hitting the high note in the bridge, followed by impressive vocal runs! There’s also Winny Thanawin, who you may remember as Win, Chinzhilla’s rapper in ‘My School President’, getting to show off his rapping skills in his verse.
