The acclaimed queer romantic-drama film, ‘Lie with Me’, dubbed the “French Brokeback Mountain”, is finally set to get its international mainstream streaming debut next month.
Described as “erotic, tender, romantic, and heartbreaking”, the upcoming film tells the story of Stephani Belcourt, a successful author who returns to his hometown after 35 years to promote a local distillery. He unexpectedly meets the son of his first love, arousing forgotten memories from the past. Set in the quaint rural region of Cognac in France, the film is about a homecoming of love and loss.
‘Lie with Me’ is told through flashbacks and captivates us through its passionate and complex portrayal of young and queer love while illustrating as well the consequences of prejudice and homophobia in society.
