The movie adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s novel of the same name, ‘Red White & Royal Blue’, was released a week ago and since then, it has been the talk of the town with its successful book-to-film adaptation. Starring Taylor Zakhar Perez as “Alex Claremont-Diaz” and Nicholas Galitzine as “Prince Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor”, the great acting and undeniable chemistry of the two good-looking men have definitely helped catapult the movie to number 1 in Amazon Prime. The romantic comedy is now Prime Video’s top three most-watched movies and has helped the huge surge of new Prime Video membership.
“The phenomenal debut of ‘Red, White, and Royal Blue’ is a true testament to the entertaining and inspired storytelling led by creative minds behind it,” says Amazon MGM Studios executive Jennifer Salke in a statement. The success of the queer fairytale-like romcom is also lauded by GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), America’s non-governmental media monitoring organization. “The tremendous initial success of Prime Video’s ‘Red, White, & Royal Blue’ sends a clear message that entertainment with LGBTQ-lead stories can be hits with audiences and by industry standards,” said GLAAD in a statement.
