Miss Benny’s queer comedy series ‘Glamorous’ is among a list of five shows that have officially been axed by Netflix.
Following the end of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, Netflix has decided to cancel five of its series, including ‘Glamorous,’ ‘Farzaar,’ ‘Captain Fall,’ ‘Agent Elvis,’ and ‘Shadow and Bone,’ Variety has confirmed.
Sources claim that the streaming service’s decision to cancel stemmed from various reasons including performance and impact from the strike— as the industry evaluates production schedules, scheduling shifts, etc.
The trendy queer series only ran for one season as well as ‘Agent Elvis,’ ‘Farzaar,’ and ‘Captain Fall,’ before their cancellation while ‘Shadow and Bone’ got the axe after running its second season.
‘Glamorous’ follows Miss Benny as Marco, a gay Latino YouTuber swept away from his job at a mall makeup counter and into the world of luxury cosmetics when he waits on a supermodel turned make-up mogul and beauty brand CEO, Madolyn Addison (played by the iconic Kim Cattrall).
Aside from Miss Benny, other notable LGBTQ+ cast members included non-binary actor Damian Terriquez as drag performer Dizmal and also features cameo appearances from Drag Race alums Monet X Change and Priyanka.
