Lesbian trans actress Tommy Dorfman is set to direct the film adaptation of the lesbian young adult (YA) novel ‘Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me.’
Dorfman, whose claim to fame is starring in hit shows like ‘Jane the Virgin,’ ‘13 Reasons Why,’ and ‘Love, Victor’ will be taking a seat in the director’s chair again as she has been tapped to direct the film version of Mariko Tamaki’s graphic novel, Deadline reported.
The official synopsis reads: “Laura Dean is the most popular girl in school and Frederica ‘Freddie’ Riley’s dream girl. She has it all: charm, confidence, and charisma. But there’s one problem… Laura Dean keeps breaking up with her. The story follows Freddie’s journey to finding the courage to end her toxic relationship and regain her self-love, with the help of her best friends and a psychic.”
