The truth has now come to light, causing a rift between Su Yu and Wu Bi, prompting the former to tell it to his father as well.

How will his father react when he discovers that the child he has treated as his own is the son of the guy who married his ex-wife? Let’s find out in ‘Stay With Me‘ episodes 9–12 now!

Episode 9.

Su Yu is surprised to see his father react positively to the news after exposing the truth to him. Lao Si thinks it’s fate that all of them met and expresses disappointment when he finds out that his son has severed ties with Wu Bi. Su Yu questions how he can accept the son of the person who married his ex-wife, but his father explains that they have been divorced for 10 years already and have nothing to do with the stepbrothers. He orders his son to bring Wu Bi back. Su Yu tries to make apologies to Wu Bi by picking him up on his bicycle while wearing matching scarves; the latter instead rides in his car but tells the driver to drive slowly. Ultimately, he surprises Su Yu by unexpectedly riding on the back of his bicycle, suggesting that they are once again friends. They spent New Year’s Eve with Aunt Zhuo and Duo Duo and discovered that Wu Bi is a few days older than Su Yu. They teased him by referring to the former as “Ge ge” (older brother). The two boys and Duo Duo decide to write their wishes and bury them beneath the tree, promising to open them in ten years. Wu Bi receives a call from his cousin, who is returning to China with his girlfriend. At the same time, two robbers break into Aunt Zhou’s house and attempt to abuse her, but Duo Duo calls Lao Si, who rushes over with Wu Bi and Su Yu. Wu Bi and Lao Si hit the intruders, while Su Yu consoled the sobbing Duo Duo. Su Yu confides in Wu Bi at home about his feelings regarding his father and Aunt Zhou’s relationship and how he never wants to see the little girl cry again. While he wants to be selfish, he is aware that his father abandons the concept of marrying Aunt Zhou for him and admits that all he wants is to be given a love that he does not have to share with anyone. Later on, Su Yu decides to be honest and asks his father to marry Aunt Zhou, but gets dismissed. His father believes that the only time he will marry is when his son is already settled. Su Yu reveals that he is afraid that something awful will happen to the mother and daughter and that they will be unable to save them. He firmly asks Lao Si to marry Aunt Zhou for him. Su Yu tries to be happy at the wedding banquet when Wu Bi joins him and invites him to spend the night at his. Su Yu glances back as they leave the party, realizing that this is a watershed moment in his life, and cries. Wu Bi hugs him and promises him that they will always be there for each other as brothers, never making the other feel like they are simply extras in their family.

Episode 10

Aunt Zhou surprises Su Yu with a phone so they could always reach him. At school, he discovers in one of their papers that Wu Bi is actually younger than him and he is the true “Gege” between them. At home, he overhears his parents discussing moving to a new house and taking on extra jobs in order to send him to university.

The next day, he sees his mother waiting for him and attempts to persuade him to live with her when Wu Bi arrives and informs her that Su Yu will be living with him instead. Wu Bi tells him that he’s going to rent out the other side of Su Yu’s house to be closer to school, and the latter can live with him so the family won’t have to move out. After playing around with Su Yu, Wu Bi answers a call from the former’s phone. On the other line is a girl asking for the owner; Wu Bi tells her that Su Yu has someone he likes and hangs up.

At the same time, Wu Bi’s stepmother finds her stepson’s apartment empty.

Episode 11

Wu Bi sees Mo Yi and catches up; he shares that he is currently living with his stepbrother, which irritates his cousin because he sees it as Wu Bi letting his stepmother take away everything for him, but the latter is unconcerned. Instead, Wu Bi tells him proudly about Su Yu, which makes his cousin think he has not matured yet.

Returning Wan Ying is talking to Su Yu when Wu Bi comes resulting in introducing the two to each other. Meanwhile, Wu Bi receives a photograph of Mo Yi’s girlfriend, who turns out to be Wan Ying. He overhears her inviting Su Yu to lunch and invites himself. While on their way, the step-brothers quarrel through text messages about the unexpected lunch invitation. Wan Ying tries to flirt with an uncomfortable Su Yu and tells him that while she lives abroad, her heart remains in China.

Back at their residence, Wu Bi asks Su Yu if he still likes Wan Ying, but the latter simply replies that they were never together and would never be. Wu Bi meets with Mo Yi again, who asks when he will introduce Su Yu, to which the former responds that he won’t introduce them because they won’t like each other, not realizing that this avoidance will cause Mo Yi to find Su Yu himself. Mo Yi pays a visit to the house while Wu Bi is away and is disgusted by its state and orders his cousin to stop living with Su Yu while mocking his reconstituted family.

Wan Ying meets Su Yu again and confesses that she likes him but gets rejected. Meanwhile, Wu Bi orders his bodyguards to tail the two. The bodyguards assume that Wu Bi likes Wan Ying, and Su Yu is trying to steal her away, thus they beat him in front of the former. The bodyguards report proudly to Wu Bi, who gets mad and rushes outside.

Episode 12

Wu Bi arrives home to discover a bruised and angry Su Yu packing his belongings; he apologizes and tells him he did it for him, but the latter is angry that the former has someone following him and does not trust him. Meanwhile, Wan Ying officially meets Wu Bi as Mo Yi’s cousin. The two argue about Su Yu’s whereabouts when Wan Ying requests him not to expose her. He agrees on the condition that she will not bother them anymore and claims that Su Yu is his.

At home, Wu Bi borrows Lao Si’s phone to call Su Yu and asks his Uncle to trace the location. An emotional Wan Ying finds Su Yu’s inn and tells him that she has been looking for him. She tries to touch his face, but he moves away. Wan Ying develops a fever and requests to stay the night. Meanwhile, Wu Bi arrives at the inn but believes Su Yu must be resting and decides to wait outside his door instead. Su Yu walks out to find Wu Bi waiting for him who rushes over to hug him and begs him to return home, but is shocked to see Wan Ying inside. Su Yu tries to explain but gets ignored.

Wan Ying lies to Su Yu that Wu Bi likes her and that the bodyguards beat her up because of her, which surprises him. She continues to lie, claiming that Wu Bi threatened her not to be around Su Yu and that he only found the inn because she was being followed. Wan Ying meets Wu Bi in a cafe and tells Su Yu to go there, who sees the two standing close. She pushes Wu Bi away when she notices Su Yu and pretends to be hurt. Su Yu hits Wu Bi, but the latter does not hit back and exclaims that she is dating his cousin, calling her a great actress. Su Yu asks painfully if Wu Bi really likes Wan Ying, but the latter just pushes him and walks out.

Wu Bi asks Mo Yi what he would do if his girlfriend replaced him with someone else, and he becomes concerned when his cousin replies that death is the only option. Meanwhile, Su Yu mulls over what occurred and wonders why Wu Bi refuses to admit that he likes Wan Ying given his personality. Duo Duo tells him at his parents’ house that he is missing Wu Bi and that they are both in anguish because of the person they like.

Writer’s Thoughts:

‘Stay With Me’ truly managed to keep everyone on their toes with how the events unfolded, from the sweet moments in Episodes 9–10 to the drama in Episodes 11–12. It would be intriguing to see what role Mo Yi, who appears to have the same personality as Wu Bi but is cutthroat, will have in the two’s relations. We must also see if Su Yu wil believe the lies that Wan Ying fed him. Stay tuned for the new episodes dropping on July 28 and 29!
