LOOK: Tran Vu Duc Duy, Vuong Huy Star in Musical Romance ‘Cuoc Noi Loan Cua Tam Hon’

Following their breakout in ‘Under the Oak Tree’, stars Tran Vu Duc Duy and Vuong Huy return in the new Vietnamese BL musical drama ‘Cuoc Noi Loan Cua Tam Hon’.

‘Cuoc Noi Loan Cua Tam Hon’, literally translated as ‘The Rebellion of the Soul’, is the latest project from Oril Nguyen, following his recently concluded drama ‘Under the Oak Tree’. This marks the comeback of the on-screen couple ‘Du-Hy’, with Tran Vu Duc Duy, portraying a young painter struggling with psychological issues, while Vuong Huy takes on the role of a god from a Nordic land.

Debuted last March 2024, the two quickly gained popularity in ‘Under the Oak Tree’, the first BoyLove musical series in the country. The duo also became popular through a series of viral TikToks, sharing glimpses into their lives and the wholesome image of a loving LGBT couple.

The drama is helmed by director Oril Nguyen, known for his works ‘The Promise’, ‘Beef, Cupcakes, and Him’, ‘My Monster-in-Law’, and ‘Enemy, I Love You!’, and brings together an impressive cast, including Dien Vien, Thanh An, Gia Ki, Bao Ngan, Vi Hao, and Dien Minh. The project is produced by 2B Entertainment, and co-sponsored by PEPFAR Vietnam, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, and MFM, a clinic and pharmacy.

The drama explores themes of self-reflection and the internal crises faced by individuals affected by immunodeficiency (HIV/AIDS). It symbolizes the battle within the soul, personified through emotional spirits, depicting a journey from self-doubt and fear to overcoming physical and psychological challenges, reclaiming hope, and rediscovering love and control over one’s life.
