Uh-oh, we’re in for disappointing news.
Joel Kim Booster’s 2022 gay remake of the classic Pride and Prejudice will not receive a sequel.
‘Fire Island’s official synopsis reads, “A group of queer best friends gather in the Fire Island Pines for their annual week of love and laughter, but when a sudden change of events jeopardizes their summer in gay paradise, their bonds as a chosen family are pushed to the limit.”
In an interview with PRIDE, ‘Fire Island’ star Matt Rogers dispelled rumors circulating that a second movie is in the works and said a sequel will not be happening despite the film receiving rave reviews.
“I think that Fire Island might be just what it is. I don’t think you’ll see a sequel, which I think is actually okay. I think that not everything needs a sequel. Some things can be beautiful on their own,” Rogers said in the interview.
