Remember Me

Episode 4

This episode begins with a flashback to the first time Em and Name met, with a young Em noticing that they like to read the same books, meaning they could be friends. It then picks up right where the last one started: Em and Gun on the bus as Name bids them farewell. Em sticks his head out the side of the bus and yells to Name, promising to come back soon and that he’ll send him a message once he arrives in Bangkok.

In Bangkok, Em moves into Nan’s place, marking the start of the two friends living together as roommates. As promised, Em borrows Nan’s computer to send quick updates to Name. They also make plans to meet with Champ and Gun later. While Em was getting settled into his new place with Nan, Gun was at his own new place. While there, he looked out the window, and to his surprise, Golf, the boy he had been exchanging letters and messages with since childhood, was passing by the building. As for Champ, he was excitedly checking out his new apartment along with his family. The excitement is mixed, however, with a tinge of sadness, as he exchanges heartfelt goodbyes with his family members, who leave him with some home-cooked meals and a few words of advice.

The four of them met up at a club later that night to enjoy themselves and spend time with each other. Once the high of the nightlife dies down, however, Champ heads home to his apartment, finding himself homesick. He sees his grandpa’s signature pickled fish on the table and eats it while reminiscing about his life back home with his family.

Meanwhile, Gun finds himself in another chance encounter with Golf at the Architecture building of their school. When Golf asked for his name, Gun panicked, unable to bring himself to reveal his real name and instead introduced himself as Korn. The two get closer throughout the various events prepared by the Architecture Faculty to welcome the new students and finally become friends beyond the identities they shared through handwritten letters and instant messages, not that Golf is aware of, of course.

Em and Name continued to keep in touch throughout this episode, with Em realizing he could call Name on the phone while Name could reply through MSN to make communication easier. Name’s mom, however, seemed to express disappointment upon finding out that Name still refused to speak with his friends and continued to resort to MSN.

Back to Gun and Golf, the two continue getting closer when Golf suddenly decides that the two of them should be partners for the assignment in class and the two continue to bond over their shared hometown.

Meanwhile, Nan is convinced by some of his friends to flirt with a girl by the name of Chompu. Given his womanizing nature, it’s no surprise that he accepts the challenge and takes her contact details. Later, he sends her a message under the guise of needing help with academics and thus begins the constant stream of communication between them.

Later, Em, now on the cheerleading team, continues his promise of keeping in touch with Name. However, he finds himself apologizing for being too busy to talk to Name as much as he wanted to due to his busy schedule and even falls asleep mid-conversation, and even oversleeping the next morning. The episode ends with Golf paying a surprise visit to Gun’s place.

Remember Me

Episode 5

The episode starts with Golf explaining that he asked the building’s security guard how to find “Korn’s” room and invites him to a quick meal before class before the opening credits begin. A quick scene of Champ rushing to school while on the phone with his grandpa is then shown before the camera transitions to Nan in class, more invested in his digital conversation with Chompu than the lecture. The two agreed to do their first video call later that night, which caused Nan’s friends to get suspicious as he turned down their invitation to go out later that night without telling them his reason.

Gun and Golf continue to grow closer as they share a meal and agree to work on their school work together at Gun’s place. As they worked, Golf used Gun’s computer to look something up, only for Gun to realize while Golf was already on the computer that he had to hide his MSN details or else his identity would be revealed, so he hurriedly ran to his computer to hide the evidence.

Champ, on the other hand, was keeping in touch with his family through a video call and found his attention divided as he was also struggling to keep up with schoolwork. He also expressed concern over his grandpa coughing while on a video call, but his grandpa insisted he was fine.

Elsewhere, Nan and Chompu finally talked to each other through a video call, though it was cut short by Em interrupting them to ask Nan about who he was talking to. While Em was occupied, Name found himself getting frustrated that between school and cheerleading, Em seemed not to have time for him anymore, despite his promise to keep in touch. Name’s mother tried to explain that Em had his own life to live and that Name had to respect that, but he instead continued to insist that Em should keep his promise through sign language. The situation escalated, leading to Name and his mother getting upset with each other. The scene then transitions to Name looking at the mirror, trying to say Em’s name, but no words come out.

Meanwhile, Gun and Em meet in school and confide in each other about their situations: Gun pretending to be someone named Korn and Em’s situation with Name. Gun’s situation then develops further, but through his MSN identity. He tells Golf that he might not be as available to chat as often and Golf says it’s alright and that he should just send a message whenever he is available.

Back in their hometown, Name and his mother continue to clash when Name is upset by his mom telling him that Em texted her to inform her that he will not be available online for a while. Name complained by writing down notes about how he did not understand why Em refused to tell him directly. His mom then asks why he is so insistent on writing things down and using signs when the doctor told her he is fully capable of talking. She is later seen outside, sniffling while doing the laundry when her neighbor, who is Em’s mother, finds her and tries to console her. She offers Name’s mom some advice, which led to her calling her mother and having a sincere conversation about parenthood. Em’s mother then talks to Em on the phone, but the scene changed before she could ask him the question on her mind.

The episode then comes to a close with Nan and Chompu on a video call. Nan asks Chompu if they could finally meet in person. She says she would like to, but there is something he must first know. She adjusts her camera and back away, revealing the wheelchair she is confined to.

These two episodes took viewers through the growing pains of adjusting to a new life, filled with heartfelt and emotional scenes, complemented by a talented cast of actors and it will certainly be interesting to see where the story goes next.
