The twists and turns that make up the wild story of ‘Kidnap’ are continuing in episodes 5 and 6! Let’s take a look back at these episodes and all the shocking and exciting moments they brought us!
Episode 5 – Workplace Revelations
The episode starts off with a lighthearted scene of Min, Mhen, and Q’s playful banter about Min’s acting skills before we see Min at his job as one of Yada’s bodyguards. It’s here that Min overhears Yada and Suea talking about Phoom, the man who hired Min and James to kidnap Q and the father of the suspect in the case Q’s dad, Kacha, is in charge of. It becomes clear to Min that Yada has ill intentions towards both Phoom and Kacha, making Min want to quit the job, though Suea tells him there’s no way out. Things are further complicated when Q and Mhen, after Mhen’s adorable interrogation into whether there’s something more going on between Q and his brother, notice Min left his key card behind and Q goes to deliver it to him. Min tries to convince Q to go home, but Q notices Suea outside Min’s workplace. Curious, he carefully follows him inside.
While snooping around, Q runs into Yada, who decides to seize the opportunity to negotiate with him regarding his father. Min tries to intervene, but is stopped by Suea. She tries to convince Q that if he helps her in getting his father to back off from the case, she will ensure no one gets hurt. In the midst of their conversation, however, the lights suddenly go out. When Yada leaves the room to investigate, Suea escorts her out, which gives Min a chance to get Q out of there.
Once they get away, though, tensions remain high with Q angered that Min is working with the people who are putting his family in danger. Min tries to explain himself, but Q still finds it difficult to trust him.
Back at the house, Mhen tends to Min’s injuries from the escape, which Min claims were just from something falling on him. Mhen tries to get more info out of Q, who was staring at Min with a conflicted look on his face. Q then asks what kind of person Min is, to which Mhen responds that his brother is someone who always protects others but gets hurt himself.
The big twist of the episode comes when Kacha is seen meeting with Suea in secret. Suea hands him the evidence that Phoom, who was found dead, intended to give him, revealing that Suea has been Kacha’s informant this whole time, working behind Yada’s back. It was also him who created the diversion that let Q and Min escape earlier in the episode!
Later that night, Min decides to let Q have his room to himself, so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable. Q ends up having a nightmare, though, which is how we learn that he once saw his mom’s corpse after she was shot to death, explaining his fear of gunshots. As he wakes from the dream, he exits the room to find Min, ready to comfort him. The two have a heartfelt conversation about trust, leading to a promise not to let go of Q’s hands and a warm embrace. This seems to awaken inspiration in Min, as the next day, while filming as a stunt double, he sees the actress he’s working with as Q, and the scene is executed flawlessly.
Some time later, Min and Q have a cute moment with their choco pies followed by a genuine conversation, interrupted by sudden movement in the bushes behind them. Q throws something at the hidden entity, only for James to come out of the bushes, complaining about Q’s good aim. James informs them of Phoom’s death, which casts an air of suspense on Min and Q. Seeing how stressed out Q was by the news, the episode ends with Min cheering him up by taking him to the set of a zombie movie to play one of the zombies with him.
