Episode 12.

It’s one beautiful day at Zong Yi’s cafe when two female influencers come in and ask if they can shoot a video to feature his cafe. Zong Yi agreed, and the girls planned to shoot the cake he named ‘Strawberry Day’ because they heard the tearjerker story about it. Jhe Reui suddenly came in and asked about the story. The girls say that they heard that the person Zong Yi likes loves strawberries, so he made ‘Strawberry Day’ for him. And on Strawberry Day, the cafe only serves strawberry cake. Jhe Reui smiles after being flattered by what he heard. They went to the kitchen, and Zong Yi asked him why he came to the cafe that day, and he said that he wanted to get himself some energy.

Jhe Reui responds that it’s just ten percent as Zong Yi gently takes his hand and asks whether it’s recharging him. Jhe Reui says it’s giving him fifteen percent more energy after he abruptly threw his arms around his waist and pulled him closer. Zong Yi taunts him back, telling him to come over for dinner with his family that evening after he has been making fun of him for his poor pace of work. However, stating that he is not yet ready to face his father and Jingyu, the latter declines and requests more time. Zong Yi promised to wait for him while he held his hand more firmly.

Meanwhile, Chen Yi sends another gift to Ai Di, and this time, the latter likes it. Ai Di felt excited when he saw the gun he always wanted but felt sad after realizing there was no point in having it because he was not part of the gang anymore. A moment later, he saw a card with Chen Yi’s handwritten letter asking him to come back. He told their friend to return it to him and told him to tell Chen Yi to focus on his own life, but their friend told him that the latter likes him and that he has changed ever since he visited him in prison. In the past, Chen Yi visited Ai Di in prison. He brought a cake to celebrate their birthday. Ai Di laughs after seeing it and tells him he should celebrate with the one he loves. Before he walked away, Chen Yi showed him a necklace with the engraving ‘Chen Yi 1998.2.5’.

Ai Di told him he should discard it and go on, as he was no longer in need of it. In the present, friends inform him that Chen Yi has changed since his last visit, and he requests that he return since Chen Yi needs him. Unexpectedly, Jhe Reui ran across Zong Yi’s father outside his cafe. After all that transpired, he finally found the strength to apologize and ask Mr. Bai if he could still be Zong Yi’s lover. The old man tells him to stop apologizing and to treat him like a son. He also extends an invitation for dinner at their house. That night, they welcomed Jhe Reui into their home and finally had dinner as a family for the first time.

At the headquarters, Ai Di tied up Chen Yi and asked him to tell him about Zang Teng’s revenge. He threatens him with spicy food, but he is surprised that the latter can now eat spicy food. Little did Ai Di know, Chen Yi had already untied himself and carried him to his room. Chen Yi tied him up in bed. He told him that he finally realized that he’s the one he loves, but the latter didn’t believe him, so he says he realized it when he was in prison. Ai Di told him to stop making him a rebound just because he couldn’t get the one he loves, but Chen Yi says he knew it was him that night. He still remembers vividly what he said that night, and he saw all the gifts Ai Di prepared for him on his birthday.

Chen Yi told him that he also knew that Ai Di celebrates their birthday alone, and he remembers him saying that birthdays should be spent with the one you love. So this time, he finally told him that he loved him and asked him to celebrate his birthday with him. Ai Di pulled him closer, and they both promised each other to stay by each other’s sides. That night, the two finally gave themselves to one another. No alcohol, no doubts, no hesitations—just pure love. While Zong Yi was baking another batch of strawberry cake, his friend from high school was silently watching him while clenching her fists.

The next day, a gay couple went to Zong Yi’s cafe for baking lessons. One of them laughs as the cake doesn’t look good, but he still eats it as his partner made it for him. He kissed him before they enjoyed the cake together. Ai Di went to the cafe to tell Zong Yi that Chen Yi begged him to come back. He also told Zong Yi that Zang Teng’s revenge was a made-up story that Chen Yi made because he was afraid that he might not come back to him. He told him that the latter apologized for the fear he felt because of that. In the kitchen, Zong Yi’s friend broke a glass. After cleaning, Ai Di bids goodbye and Zong Yi tells him to tell Chen Yi to come to the cafe, and he will make cakes for him. Ai Di saw Chen Yi waiting for him outside the cafe. And before they went inside the car, Ai Di saw someone pointing a gun at them. He tried to protect Chen Yi, but the latter pushed him, and the hitman shot Chen Yi.

Fans were delighted by Max and Xuan’s quick appearance. Despite all of their challenges, Zong Yi and Jhe Reui eventually got together. After much hesitation, Chen Yi tells Ai Di that he is the one he truly loves. Why is Zong Yi’s friend from high school looking so irate, though? And who gave Chen Yi a shot? Will all the characters get the happy ending they deserve? In the last installment of “Kiseki: Dear to Me,” let’s all find out.
