Episode 11
The production staff prepares a small farewell party for Deokgu, where Dae Byeol sings for them while playing his guitar, something that he has been avoiding doing for a long time. Uno looks at him fondly before returning his attention to Daekgu and taking group photos of them. When the clock reaches nine, Uno, Jun Hyuk, and Dae Byeol visit Daekgu’s playpen, which is about to undergo euthanasia. Uno apologizes to Daekgu as he pets his weak body, while Dae Byeol tells him that he is sure that the dog is grateful to him for saving him back then. As the tears continue, Uno thanks Daekgu for helping him overcome his trauma and for sharing with him good memories to remember. He asks Daekgu to be the one to welcome him into heaven once he dies. As Jun Hyuk euthanizes Daekgu, Dae Byeol hugs Uno close to him. Unknown to them, Eun Young turns on the cameras and airs the aforementioned footage on the show, much to everyone’s surprise. Dae Byeol and Uno realize that Eun Young knew they were about to euthanize Daekgu, and she used it to earn high ratings for the show. Uno gets mad and confronts Eun Young, who remains unbothered as she stands by her decision that Daekgu’s death will generate views and even says that it’s for the former’s popularity. Uno abruptly decides to quit the show, prompting Eun Young to remind him of the scandal she once threatened him with. However, Uno answers that she can reveal his paternal relationship to the public, adding that he never really cared about the revelation. Eun Young’s previous threats only swayed Uno because he was concerned about what people would say to his deceased mother. Seong Ju follows Uno as he walks out to their car. Meanwhile, Dae Byeol orders Eun Young and her team to leave the dog cafe alone.
Dae Byeol runs after Uno, but his car has already left. On the other hand, Uno, who is now back in the comforts of his home, can’t help but stare at Dae Byeol’s photos on his phone and ends up thinking about him the whole night. Meanwhile, Dae Byeol goes to Uno’s quarters, which are now vacant except for the dog cafe uniform that he left. He, too, reminisces about his moments with Uno before he leaves the place. The following day, Eun Young and the team left, and the dog cafe returned to normal. To Dae Byeol’s surprise, Uno arrives, and the two finally talk as they sit close to each other. Uno admits that he fell for Dae Byeol the very first time he saw him in front of the animal clinic, and how fortunate he felt when he saw him again for the show. Staying with Dae Byeol taught him how to love not only animals but also other people, which is why he feels bad that Daekgu, who is very close to Dae Byeol’s heart, was used for the show without their consent. After hearing Uno’s perspective, Dae Byeol reveals that his preference for animals over people stems from his use of them as a protective mechanism against getting hurt by other people. Finally, he tells Uno about Chi Seob, an upperclassman with whom he fell in love and became in a relationship. Chi Seob has always admired Dae Byeol’s singing and guitar-playing abilities, but their relationship unravels when they become exposed. Chi Seob moves to another country despite Dae Byeol’s plea for him to stay. After his heartbreak, Dae Byeol begins to fear singing and falling in love with another person once again; hence, he guards himself from Uno. Realizing that Dae Byeol has his fears too, just like him, Uno comforts the latter and tells him that from now on, he has him to tell his secrets to. The two confess that they liked each other from the very first time they laid eyes on each other and finally kissed.
