The Truth Is Finally Out in ‘Tokyo In April Is…’ Ep. 7

Tokyo In April Is...

Ren went missing in the last episode, will Kazuma find him once and for all? Will Ren ever tell Kazuma what happened? Let’s find out in BLtai’s recap of ‘Tokyo in April Is…‘ ep. 7!

WARNING: Spoiler alert! Don’t read on if you don’t want to be spoiled by the story.

Kazuma thinks of the reason why Ren was the only one who felt special in his life. He thinks of all of the times they were together after they reunited as adults. He concluded that he won’t understand why Ren is special to him, but he knows that he has never cherished someone in his life as much as he does Ren, which is an “unshakable truth.”

Meanwhile, the “missing” Ren is at his friend, Yagami’s, house. It was then revealed that Ren called Yagami when he broke down after meeting Kazuma’s mother. Yagami asked Ren what his plans were because despite being MIA, he is still doing a lot of work and designating it to his trusted colleague. And there is also the matter of Ren telling Kazuma where he is… Yagami says the fact that Ren’s IQ drops whenever it’s about Kazuma (which, let’s be honest, is kind of true), which gained a playful (?) punch from Ren. He said that the punch was payback for the awarding ceremony event when Yagami gave Kazuma the wrong impression that Ren sleeps around. Ren then admits that he will “die” if Kazuma leaves him. And despite that, he knows it’s wrong that’s why he is ending his relationship with him. Yagami asks if it’s fine to not explain anything to Kazuma, and Ren says he just thinks Kazuma is too kindhearted and that he knows Kazuma will not stay silent about everything he is planning to do, and he does not want him to get involved and be in trouble (as he already is). Yagami calls him an idiot.

Kazuma goes to meet Yagami. But before they meet, Kazuma thinks that he never really truly understood him. He thought of so many times when he was not able to be a supportive person for him, feeling only regret. Yagami finally arrived and as a greeting, he said that Kazuma sought him later than he thought he would. Kazuma begs him to tell him where Ren is, causing a bit of a scene at the coffee place. Instead of telling him where Ren is, Yagami asked him if they have slept together, inappropriately describing Ren’s body as if trying to ignite more anger in Kazuma. He sat there, a bit stunned, at what Yagami was asking, and flatly says what Yagami is saying is a lie and that they only went to the same school. Yagami scoffs and says that is only what he wanted to believe because he doesn’t really know who Ren is. Yagami keeps talking about ways how to tease Ren as Kazuma sits there, seemingly frozen.

But Kazuma stays firm in his belief, saying that it’s not about wanting to believe it or not, but that he believes everything Ren said. Kazuma, annoyed, says if he does not intend to tell him where Ren is, he will find him himself and stand up to leave. Before he goes any further, however, Yagami taunts him again asking him what he plans to do when he finds Ren when he isn’t even gay, which earned an angry outburst from Kazuma. Kazuma shouts at him and says he does not care about gender and that he is only in love with Ren no matter what gender he is. He says that he came back to Tokyo to meet Ren and that the only thing that matters to him is only Ren. Yagami remembers when Ren said he plans to go back to Tokyo and wait for Kazuma. He finally tells Kazuma to sit down. He tells him everything.

Tokyo In April Is...

Kazuma finally knows the whole story — why Ren disappeared, why he transferred schools, and why he changed his last name. Ren transferred to a boarding school in France because he was abandoned by his parents after the incident at the motel. Yagami tells Kazuma that Ren lost his family, friends, and everyone because he wanted to protect him. Kazuma cries thinking about how much Ren protected him and all he can think about is just Ren. He thinks of the time when they were talking about a memory Kazuma had during his time in America, and when he asked about Ren’s time in France, he immediately changed topics. Now he knows that Ren didn’t really want to talk about that time because he never really had a great time in France because of the trauma it gave him. Kazuma asks Yagami where Ren is right now, and he answered that he must be at their company. Kazuma gets up to leave, but before he did, Yagami tells him that Ren and him never had sex even though they did try a couple of times. It was because Ren could only really have sex with someone at the bottom of his heart. Kazuma leaves and run off to Ren.

Ren was at the company after office hours, packing all of his things. But before he left, Sanada came and threatened him for ratting him out of his abuse towards the employees. He physically hurt Ren, leaving him on the floor and thinking of Kazuma, as if it is the last time he will ever think of him. Meanwhile, Kazuma, completely out of breath, keeps running toward Ren.

Will he reach Ren on time? Will they finally have their happy ending? Let’s find out next week on the last episode of ‘Tokyo In April Is…’.
