Kazuhito and Ryoto start their domestic life together as roommates! Will things go smoothly? Let’s find out in the first episode of ‘Living With Him‘.
Ryota is the oldest of three siblings, and he has known household chores from the get-go. His life was turned upside-down when his mother announced that he would be living together with his childhood friend, Kazuhito. Learning that the two are going off to college, their parents decided that it would be more cost-efficient if their children would just share one house. And so, without any more discussions and amidst the cheers of Ryota’s younger sisters, the two freshmen are now living together in one house.
Kazuhito and Ryota begin fixing their house together, and we find out what happened between them. The two have been childhood friends because their mothers are good friends, as well. However, since Kazuhito studied in a different school and they ran in different circles, the two barely spoke anymore. This is the reason why, Ryota says, he was hesitant to live together with him because they were “practically strangers”. Kazuhito asked him what he meant by that, and he admitted that it was because he was in the popular group and Ryota was not. And in fact, everybody had a crush on him. Kazuhito brushed it off again and said that he was actually excited to share a house with Ryota. But once again, Ryota points out that it might be awkward living together especially if Kazuhito brings in his girlfriend, to which he said that he actually does not have one. Ryota pesters him about why he is single when his sisters have repeatedly told him that he is popular among the girls and that he even plays baseball well. But Kazuhito said it was the opposite — that he actually gets dumped quite often and that he injured his shoulder so he couldn’t play baseball anymore. Ryota apologizes for not knowing about his injury and then offers that he will help him find his fault for why he gets dumped.
The next day, the two went out on a non-date date and Ryota continued to find “faults” in Kazuhito. They went out to play in a baseball pen, even though Ryota was hesitant to ask him at first because of his injury. But Kazuhito was eager and wanted to go play ball with him, doing non-surprisingly well in hitting the baseball despite his injury. The two also went to the furniture shop to buy some other things they needed for their house, even deciding to buy a “couple mug”, which seemed to satisfy Kazuhito. They ended the day by eating together, and Ryota was still perplexed as to why Kazuhito was still getting dumped.
