Mother is back! Filipino LBTQ icon Vice Ganda is set to make his comeback in a new movie this year.
The multi-hyphenated non-binary superstar announced on April 19, Friday, in his noontime series called ‘It’s Showtime’ that he will be starring in a new project with the title ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’.
The film will be under the production houses Star Cinema and The IdeaFirst Company, and will be helmed by award-winning director Jun Robles Lana, who is best known for his works with LGBTQ themes such as the 2016 trans drama film ‘Die Beautiful’, the 2019 queer movie ‘The Panti Sisters’, and the drama thriller ‘Kalel, 15’ among others.
“Everyone, this is it– new movie alert. Your mother will be mothering again in the cinemas. I will be back on the big screen to establish some extravagance in the society,” Vice said.
Meanwhile, Lana added, “I think many viewers will be able to relate to the film. And everything one might expect from a Vice Ganda film, the joy, the riotous comedy, we will not just deliver but we will exceed.”
