Josh really said: fourth time’s the gay charm!
‘Challengers’ and ‘God’s Own Country’ star Josh O’Connor is in talks to team up again with director Luca Guadagnino for a new gay movie.
The new romantic drama film ‘Separate Rooms’ is an adaptation of an eponymous novel by the late Italian writer Pier Vittorio Tondelli which follows an Italian writer, Leo, who mourns the loss of his boyfriend.
Variety reported that the film will center on Leo’s passionate romance with a shy German musician, Thomas (who has not been cast as of this writing), and is marked by different forms of separation. The story is divided into three parts covering different eras of the leads’ relationships starting in Paris and as they travel through Europe before Thomas’ diagnosis of an illness and eventual death.
O’Connor has previously worked with Guadagnino in the upcoming tennis romantic sports drama film ‘Challengers’ alongside Zendaya and Mark Faist. In the film, O’Connor plays a tennis star who along with his best friend falls in love with another tennis star. When asked if the film would be fruity, Guadagnino replied, “It’s me, so…”
