The queers stay winning in every universe, trust and believe!
Former showrunner Beau DeMayo has confirmed that yes, THAT moment from the finale of the hit Disney+ animated series ‘X-Men ‘97’ meant exactly what every fan thought it meant.
We are talking about the nonbinary superhero Morph transforming into Jean Grey to speak to a severely wounded Wolverine. Realizing it could be their last chance to talk to their pal, Morph mumbles, “She can’t say it, but I can…” and promptly transforms into the love of Wolverine’s life to confess, “I love you, Logan. Stay with me.”
Now, this is not the first time that the revival show has insinuated Morph’s queerness and feelings for Wolverine. The two, much like the original series, have spent a lot of time together, but the 2024 version has strongly alluded to a strong romantic undertone between the two, specifically with Morph pining for Wolverine. In one episode, Morph was seen smirking flirtatiously after thinking a naked Logan followed them into the showers in “Fire Made Flesh” which turned out to be a mere supernatural illusion of their deepest desires.
