Kristen Stewart’s Lesbian Thriller Film ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ Receives Rave Reviews

Kristen Stewart’s lesbian crime thriller ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ is almost here and with its upcoming theatrical release date, reviews have been pouring too!

Numerous reviews have been released and the movie has been earning praise, even receiving a score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 67 reviews as of this writing.

This makes ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ Stewart’s second highest-rated movie on the review site preceded by Kelly Reichardt’s moving drama ‘Certain Women’ at 92%.

Katie Rife of IGN Movies said, “Love Lies Bleeding combines intense lesbian sexuality with shocking, graphic violence for a film that really gets the blood pumping.”

David Fear of Rolling Stone wrote, “Love Lies Bleeding doesn’t have time for a slow burn. It’s a movie that comes in hot and leaves in a molten blaze of glory.”

The official synopsis for the film reads “an electric new love story; reclusive gym manager Lou (Stewart) falls hard for Jackie (Katy O’Brian), an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream. But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.”

‘Loves Lies Bleeding’ also stars Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov, Dave Franco, and Ed Harris. Harris plays Stewart’s gun-touting father, a crime lord who loves to cause trouble.

It is a co-production between A24 and Film4. It is the second film to be directed by the English director Rose Glass who is known for the 2019 horror mystery ‘Saint Maud.’

The film is rated R in the US and has a runtime of 104 minutes.

‘Love Lies Bleeding’ debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January and will hit theaters on March 15.
