Is the matrix glitching or what? Critically acclaimed trans filmmaker Lilly Wachowski is set to make her solo feature directorial debut with the queer dramedy movie ‘Trash Mountain.”
The other half of the Wachowski sisters and Matrix directors will be making her comeback and debut in filmmaking solo following a substantial career directing alongside her sister, Lana Wachowski.
“When my pal Caleb Hearon sent me ‘Trash Mountain,’ I leaped at the chance to direct it. So beautiful and sad and funny! Queer representation and stories are vital at this time as we are being shoved further into the margins. Our amazing writers, Caleb and Ruby are a shining light in all this dang darkness,” Wachowski said in a statement to Collider.
‘Trash Mountain’ is a queer dramedy that follows a young gay man living in Chicago who returns to his hometown in Missouri following the death of his hoarder father who left, presumably, a mountain of trash and the occasional valuable for his son to pick through.
