‘Between Here and Now’ is a short film that was released on March 30, 2018. It star actors Peder Bille, Francisco Martino, and Peter Oliver Hansen, and is directed by Jannik Splidsboel. The short film depicts Tony, a visiting Italian, meets Oscar in a Copenhagen bar — what seems like a one-night stand becomes more complicated and the two men form a fragile friendship based on mutual loneliness. It was selected as part of the official selections of Shanghai Pride Film Festival (2018), BFI Flare London LGBTQ+ Film Festival (2018), Melbourne Queer Film Festival (2019) and Reeling 2018: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival.

Tony (28) works as a hit man for some bad guys in Rome, Italy. When he’s sent to Denmark to fix an “easy” job, he finds himself stuck in dark and cold Copenhagen. One night he meets Danish journalist, Oscar (28), and the two guys form a fragile friendship based on mutual loneliness and desperation. When the “easy” job goes wrong, Tony can only turn to Oscar, who is happy to help and even more so when he realizes who he’s housing. A story about Tony could be his journalistic – and economical – breakthrough. Inevitably Tony must go back to Rome to solve his situation and Oscar follows after. But by doing so, he not only jeopardizes Tony’s attempt to leave the criminal world and his relationship with Tony; he also gets caught up in his own lies.
