WATCH: Get Ready for Some Royal Pain in the First ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ Teaser!

RWBW Movie

Prime Video has dropped the first ever teaser video for the highly anticipated film adaptation of the gay novel ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ — and we’re not sure if we’re happy or frustrated because it does a really great job at teasing!

Prime Video posted a 24-second teaser on its social media accounts with the caption “The scooch heard round the world. #RWRBMovie”. In the video, a reporter asks the two main characters — the United States First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz (played by Taylor Zakhar Perez) and Prince Henry (played by Nicholas Galitzine) — to “scooch in a little closer together.” The two, who are visibly distanced from each other on the settee, do as they were told albeit hesitantly, with Alex keeping a smile and Henry obviously annoyed. It then cuts to the title, and surprise, surprise, it really got us wanting for more!

Check it out below:

‘Red, White & Royal Blue’, originally a 2019 novel by Casey McQuiston, follows the star-crossed rivals-to-lovers story of Alex Claremont-Diaz, First Son of the President of the United States, and Henry, Prince of England and third in line to the throne. With highly public lives, the two try to navigate the challenges of self-discovery while keeping their romance a secret, especially when Alex’s mother, the first female President of the United States, is up for re-election.

‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ got an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America which means it will contain “language, some sexual content, and partial nudity.”

Aside from Perez and Galitzine, the cast also includes Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Stephen Fry, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth, and Juan Castano.

‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ premieres globally on Prime Video on 11 August 2023.
