Reality TV show ‘Married At First Sight UK’ is teasing its return with the introduction of its contestants — eight brides and eight grooms — including one openly transgender, the first ever in the history of the series.
29-year-old Ella from Weston-Super-Mare is an openly transwoman who is one of the brides of the upcoming Season 8. She works as a clinic consultant and is described as a “blonde bombshell with a sense of humor and a heart of gold.” Ella lives with her nan, the closest person in her life, and she considers themselves as a “dynamic duo everyone needs in their life.”
As the first transgender contestant, Ella said that “[t]his experiment is so much more than just me getting married,” she also sees this “as a big deal for someone who has transitioned.”
‘Married At First Sight UK’ is the UK franchise of the American reality series of the same name where couples are matched “scientifically” by “experts”, meeting only just minutes before getting married. The contestants then live a married life for a period of time until they reach a commitment ceremony where they will reveal if they would like to continue the relationship or not.
