‘Married At First Sight’ (MAFS) trans bride Ella Morgan has penned an emotional statement following the show’s finale.
In an Instagram post, Morgan wrote to her fans after, spoiler alert, it was revealed that Morgan and show husband JJ Slater decided not to say “I do” during their final vows and opted to go their own ways.
The reality star wrote that this had been “the hardest episode to watch,” but that she stood by her decision and was proud of how much she had grown.
“It’s been the best and hardest journey I have ever experienced in life. I have grown and learned so much during my time on MAFS, and getting to end the series with the most incredible man @johnjoeslater makes it so special and all worth the ups & downs. I am so proud of us both,” she wrote.
She then proceeded to thank everybody who helped her in her MAFS journey including her now “ex-husband.”
In the finale’s vows, Morgan expressed that being paired with Slater was the best thing that could have happened to her, as she was finally seen for who she is, without judgment.
“I only dreamed of it as a child and you made me see and realize it was a reality rather than a dream,” she said in her vows.
Morgan then said that she knows relationships are about compromise and she has needs and wants but shouldn’t just settle because someone accepts her transness.
