Jacob Elordi, who plays the villain Nate Jacobs in ‘Euphoria’, and ‘Narcos’ star Diego Calva will star as “hot” lovers in an upcoming period romance film adaptation of the 2019 novel ‘On Swift Horses’.
Written by Shannon Pufahl, ‘On Swift Horses’ is set in the 1950s and tells the story of newlyweds Muriel and Lee as they navigate life following Lee’s return from the Korean War. Things seem to go well for the two until Lee’s younger brother, Julius, a gambler with a dark secret, arrives, and a dangerous love triangle ensues. However, as the three decide to embark on a new life in California, their hopes for their American Dream is shattered when Julius heads for Las Vegas instead while Muriel finds herself enamored by horse race gambling.
Elordi, 25, will play the role of Lee’s younger brother. Calva, 30, will play the role of Henry, a card swindler whom Julius falls in love with.
‘On Swift Horses’ will be directed by Daniel Minahan, known for his work on HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’.
In an interview with Variety, Calva revealed that filming has wrapped up and added, “I don’t know if I can say this but we are going to have pretty hot scenes in this movie.”

Fan reactions have been pretty mixed, although generally received with excitement. Some said they would believe it until it is shown. ‘Bridgerton’, a popular period drama, was accused of queerbaiting after it highlighted queer sex in its trailer but avoided queer storylines.
