In a heartfelt post on his social media, pop singer Lauv seemingly came out as part of the LGBTQ+ community!

Known for his hit songs “I Like Me Better” and “Mean It”, the 28-year-old American artist revealed on a TikTok post that he has a liking for both men and women.

He described in his TikTok video, “When [you’re] dating a girl but [you’re] also a [little] bit into men.” In the captions, he said, “Does it have to be that big of a deal? I haven’t done much aside from kiss so [to be honest] I don’t wanna jump the gun. But [to be honest] I feel things, and I don’t wanna pretend I don’t.”

He did not specify a label for himself, but fans in the comments have been nothing but supportive of his coming out.

“A straight relationship doesn’t eliminate the fact [that] you’re bi,” one commenter said. “So valid.”

“I’d look into pansexuality! It’s more about the connection you feel with the person rather than about body parts!” Another said.

Another fan said, “I wish it was less of a big deal. It’s something so valid about you that others for some reason take issue with. But I hope sharing it helped you.”

Over the years, Lauv has shown support for the LGBTQ+ community, stating in a 2020 GAY Times interview that the community has been “incredibly important to him.”

In 2018, Lauv also joined the Human Rights Campaign for their Equality Rocks Campaign which aimed to spark “conversation about love, fairness and equality around the globe.”

“For me to be in a place where I can use my voice positively, to encourage other people to be themselves and to support LGBTQ equality, I feel like I’m in a position where I can speak out,” he said in a statement.
