Dangai Drama ‘The Spirealm’ Drops All Episodes; Has Been Taken Down After An Hour

The Chinese horror drama ‘The Spirealm’ made a surprise release and deleted all episodes after an hour of creating traction on social media!

‘The Spirealm (致命游戏)’ is a 78-episode live adaptation of a Chinese Boys’ Love (BL) novel called Kaleidoscope of Death (死亡万花筒) by Xi Zixu, in which the BL content has been removed and replaced with subtext or bromance. Directors Danny Pang and Lu Jin Cheng are in charge of the drama, which also stars Xia Zhi Guang, Huang Jun Jie, Liu Ruo Gu, Liu Xiao Bei, Zheng Chun Jing, and Lin Lu Meng.

On February 2, streaming platform iQIYI surprised fans of the novel as they released all the episodes on the platform; however, the excitement lasted for an hour as it was swiftly taken down. China Mainland has banned productions from releasing any BL content for years, and some of them managed to release them internationally except in China, like ‘Stay With Me’, ‘In Your Heart’, and more, through global platforms like GagaOOLala.

Then, one odd day, he pushed open a door, and he discovered that the hallway he was familiar with turned into a boundless corridor. At both ends of this corridor were twelve, identical iron gates. Thus, the story began.

‘The Spirealm’ is still not available on the platform as of this writing. But many fans managed to download all the episodes, mostly in low quality and not supported with subtitles, and shared through other means.
