A new killer-horror genre biopic is in the works, and it will star Cara Delevingne and Shailene Woodley as lovers!
Titled ‘The Murderous Miss Highsmith’, the movie will reimagine the early life and career of author Patricia Highsmith (to be played by Woodley) before she wrote “The Talented Mr. Ripley” which itself is inspired by her doomed love affairs with two women.
According to Deadline which broke the news, the aim of the biopic is to “get inside the mind of the author,”.that is, to show her interest in violent murders. Delevingne, on the other hand, will play as one of her love interests, facing off against Noemie Merlant. This interesting mix of genres will showcase how both Highsmith’s profession and intense love life shaped her persona.
Alexandra Pechman was tapped to direct the movie, and this will be her first feature after her genre short film ‘Thumb’. Filming will begin this fall in Italy.
