‘Boys’ Lockdown’ Star Ali King Spills Tea On Why Season 2 Did Not Push Through

Ever wondered what happened to KeyChen and the planned sequel of the Filipino BL series ‘Boys’ Lockdown’?

Well, its lead actor Ali King is here to shed some light on why the supposed season 2 of the series did not push through.

In a TikTok video posted on April 23, Tuesday, King addressed a comment asking for a storytime about the cancellation of the 2020 series.

King said that the people behind the production wanted to do a second season due to the fans’ clamor for more, so they partnered with a local theater organization, presumably the Bidlisiw Foundation Inc. Philippines.

King recalled that the sequel titled ‘Love Team: Beyond Boys’ Lockdown’ had him and on-screen partner Alec Kevin supposedly playing a fictional version of themselves. It also planned to introduce new characters and cast including the supposed acting debut of veteran news anchor Ces Drilon who was slated to play as King’s mother.

To his excitement, he added that they also had everything down to the look tests, make-up, and wardrobe. They also released a teaser which you can still watch here.

Unfortunately, a week before they started filming, King said they were told that the shoot had been held off which was sad for him because he expressed that he wanted to get back into acting at the time. After the shoot was postponed, time went by, and eventually, they were told that the series had been shelved indefinitely due to internal problems.

“Things happened and Alec had an opportunity to live in Europe and I had work, I never left, and after that (the series), I still had a job, so I pushed that, and I did my influencer thing. I wasn’t doing perfumes then, but things happened after the other,” he said.

King added that it was a nice experience but he doesn’t think we will see Key anytime soon.
