The professionalism of creator and star of the smash hit Netflix series ‘Baby Reindeer’ Richard Gadd is being called into question after allegedly dating a trans actress who auditioned for the show.
On May 3, Friday, Deadline reported that Gadd has been investigated by the show’s producer, Clerkenwell Films, after transgender actress Reece Lyons came forward claiming that she was asked to audition for the role at the same time that she was asked out by the Gadd.
‘Baby Reindeer’ follows Gadd’s real-life story of dealing with a stalker while dating a trans woman named Teri played by Nava Mau, who is based on his real-life ex-girlfriend.
Lyons wrote about her audition experience in a thread on X but did not name Gadd or the show but Deadline confirmed that Gadd was the person referenced by the actress.

Lyons clarified that she does not claim to be a victim of abuse, but expressed that she was “hurt” by Gadd “conflating a work opportunity with a dating dynamic.”
Gadd and Lyons met in October 2021 after Lyons’ performance in the one-woman show ‘Overflow.’ Lyons claimed on her X thread that Gadd and his friend approached her and alleged that the possibility of an audition for the show was opened after separating from Gadd’s friend.
