Out of all these series, only one can come out on top! GMMTV, one of Thailand’s biggest producers of BL content, shows no signs of slowing down with four ongoing BL series right now! Of course, though, we don’t have unlimited time, so you may be wondering which one is best. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Let’s take a look at each of these series to help you decide which ones you want to watch!

My Love Mix-Up TH

A fresh Thai take on the iconic ‘Kieta Hatsukoi’, this series is ideal both for fans of the Japanese live-action adaptation and manga as well as long-time GeminiFourth fans from their previous series such as the massively successful ‘My School President’. While it’s the newest of GMMTV’s current lineup, it’s hard to predict how well the rest of the series will go, but given GeminiFourth’s tried and tested chemistry and Au Kornprom, who also directed ‘My School President’, behind the wheel, there’s good reason to be optimistic about this adorably funny rom-com!

Wandee Goodday

Equal parts funny, sexy, and thoughtful, ‘Wandee Goodday’ is an exciting and raunchy series with Wandee’s workplace rivalry, Yoryak’s dedication to his boxing, and the glorious drama that comes with feelings entering the picture between friends with benefits! The series is also full of social commentary on issues such as asexuality through the character of Doctor Plakao as well as sexual health as a whole. Despite being a romantic comedy, the series isn’t afraid to delve into darker territory such as with the way it deals with both Wandee and Yoryak’s grief over loved ones who passed away prior to the series. You’re definitely in for a good time if you decide to watch ‘Wandee Goodday’!

‘Only Boo!’

Newbie actors Sea Dechchart and Keen Suvijak really brought their A game to their first BL series! While this series may seem, at first, to be just another high school BL, it is able to carve its own identity through the idol aspect of the plot. The series even follows its cast after high school into their experiences in the music industry and how fame affects their love lifes, which is something other similar series such as ‘My School President’ chose not to focus on. The cast’s acting is excellent, especially for new actors, in both happy and sad scenes and with the series giving emphasis to music, the many songs in its soundtrack are all excellent! This series has its characters deal with issues such as conflicts between romance and one’s goals in life as well as fears of coming out to one’s family all while still delivering on the adorable young love of the main and side couple with a healthy dash of humor!

‘We Are’

‘We Are’ has the largest cast out of any of GMMTV’s ongoing series, with PondPhuwin and WinnySatang as the two main couples while AouBoom and MarcPoon play the two side couples. What makes this one unique is that instead of dealing with pressing conflicts in these characters’ lives, it goes in a much more slice-of-life direction, depicting the ordinary lives of these tight-knit friends. The series revolves mainly around the cast’s day-to-day school lives and their relatable struggles with academics, romance, and more. As a result, it gives more focus than the other three series, or perhaps even more than any of GMMTV’s past series, on its depiction of queer friendships in romance. Many of these characters have known each other for years by the time the series starts and the friendly love between them is just as important as the romance of the series. While it may not appeal to those looking for a series with higher stakes, this one is perfect for those who just want to see love in all its forms depicted in a heartfelt way with lots of hilarious moments along the way.

Having said all that, which of these four is the best one to watch? Of course, that’s up to you! But if you’re coming from Japanese BL or just want to see more of GeminiFourth’s excellent dynamics, ‘My Love Mix-Up’ is for you! If something that strikes a balance between being serious, funny, and hot is what you need, it’s ‘Wandee Goodday’!
