GMMTV Launches Y Find Project; Faces Criticism from Fans

GMMTV officially launched the ‘Y Find Project’ and is now accepting applications.

‘Y Find’ was revealed during GMMTV 2024 Line Up Part 2 and aims to find Yaoi (Boy’s Love) and Yuri (Sapphic/Girl’s Love) plots to develop into novels, series, or movies starring GMMTV actors. On July 15, the company officially announced the project’s terms and conditions and FAQs.

Here are the things you should know:

– Writers must submit a 3-page synopsis in Thai.

– Each applicant can send up to 2 submissions.

– Submitted works must not have been published, circulated, or submitted to other contests.

– Selected plots will receive 30,000 baht, subject to withholding tax.

– GMMTV will hold all adaptation rights, and winners must sign a copyright transfer agreement. Winners will not participate in casting decisions.

Submissions can be made through gmmtvyfind.com until August 31 at 11:59 PM Thai time. Winners will be announced on October 31 on GMMTV’s social media accounts.

The announcement faced criticism for its low payout and exploitative terms, with concerns over lack of credit for writers, while others are still looking for what’s coming out with this project and who among their actors will star.
