Episode 1.
In an animated version, the show begins with Jade dreaming about his coworkers. In his dreams, his coworker searches for his misplaced cake, and he attempts to track down the culprit by using his watch, named “Santi,” in the role of “The Great Detective Jade.” While searching for the culprit, “Santi” noticed a youthful, attractive man. When Jade stepped in to see him, she was astounded by how attractive he looked with the cake in his hand. He hears a dog barking as a clue that this is really a dream as he attempts to get to know the guy better. When he woke up, he was uncertain of who the culprit was.
Jade rushed to the office as soon as he woke up late. As he waited for the new trainee for the graphic design team to arrive, a young, attractive man came into his office. When he finds out he looks so familiar, he becomes cold in an attempt to scare the trainee. He was taken aback by his high GPA when he checked his profile. Jade learns they attended the same university as the interview goes on. He stares at Mai, and he can’t help but stare at her. Because of his attractive appearance and smart attitude, he seems to have been God’s favorite in the eyes of Jade.
Jade is ashamed when Mai realizes that he is staring at him strangely. In an attempt to initiate conversation, Mai inquires about Skytrain at their campus, to which he joyfully responds. When the conversation came to a close, Mai and Jade shook hands, and Jade expressed how much she enjoyed hearing his experiences. One month later, Jade toured Mai in the office alongside Gus, his officemate’s trainee. He brought them to the pantry, where they saw Tong, King’s trainee, and Bas, his other coworker. Tong stared at Gun as they walked away. Uea and King were fighting when Jade introduced the trainees to them.
As the two have trouble, Jade grows agitated. Uea requests that he refrain from acting as King’s middleman once more. The two trainees get his apology and assurance that he has their backs. When Gus compares them to the “Cinderella Family,” Mai refers to him as “Middleman Jade.” He gladly took the cool nickname Mai had given him. The latter turns around in eagerness and smiles as he looks at him. He fainted a moment after that. In his dreams, he was the “middleman” between King and Uea’s suitors throughout their time in high school.
As they approached the stairs, Gus stumbled, and Mai grabbed him to prevent him from falling. Based on their mutual glances, Jade assumed they were fond of one another. There, he realizes that he will act as their middleman. When everyone leaves the office, Jade is the only person left. He was running to the elevator when he became afraid, as he noticed that the lights were fighting when he was leaving. He let out a loud cry upon realizing Mai was there waiting for him. He hit him for playing a prank on him, and they began going to work every day on that same day.
