‘Unknown the Series’ Lead Actors Talk About Their Friendship And Excitement Over The Show

Following the reveal of the lead actors of the upcoming Taiwanese BL ‘Unknown The Series’, Chris Chiu (Mao Di) and Huang Hongxuan (Xuan) talk about their friendship and anticipation about the show!

In an article published on LIFE, Chris Chiu and Xuan revealed that they have been friends for about 10 years and will star together on their first-ever drama together, and it’s Chris’ BL project as Xuan appears in the ongoing Taiwanese BL ‘VIP Only’ as Lai Dai Yi! Chris will play the role of Wei Qian, a young man who lost his parents at a young age and has to shoulder their family’s responsibilities, including raising his younger sister and accidentally adopting Xiaoyuan, who becomes his sworn brother.

Meanwhile, Xuan plays Xiaoyuan as a delicate-minded and determined younger brother, whose whole world spins around Wei Qian, and wonders why he can’t like him even though they are not even brothers in flesh and blood.

After reading the script, Chris revealed in the interview that he’s looking forward to playing his role with eager to take on Xuan, while Xuan is grateful to work with Chris, who has become his big brother in his life and lends his hand during production. Chris added that his character has a lot of fighting scenes and finds them tough.

Xuan felt his character was different from his personality; he is talkative and loves to smile and play with Xiaoyuan, who is mild and keeps his emotions in his mind. To play that role, Chris practices smiling less while meeting with the staff, trying to keep his emotions from fluctuating.

‘Unknown’ is an adaptation based on Priest’s novel “Da Ge,” produced by Result Entertainment, known for ‘No. 1 For You’, ‘Fighting Mr. 2nd’, and ‘My Tooth Your Love’. The drama follows Wei Qian, who lost his parents at a young age and has shouldered the family’s responsibilities since then, including raising his younger sibling, Wei Lili. However, things complicated when he adopted Xiaoyuan, who became his sworn brother and seems to have developed a fondness for him over the years.
