After the success of their first BL series as a couple, ‘Kissable Lips’, Kim Ji Woong and Yoon Seo Bin reunite again as a cute couple in the ‘Roommates of Poongduck’.

Jae Yoon works for a huge company. Youthful and effective, he is the proprietor of the Poongduck Estate. One day, an uninhibited playboy who doesn’t play by the rules moves into Jae’s house, much to Jae Yoon’s disturbance. But as destiny would have it, when Jae Yoon is exchanged to a modern division in his company, he realizes that his unused administrator is none other than his unlikable, irritating flatmate!

Episode 1. Accidental Meeting.
The first episode begins with the accidental meeting of Jae Yoon and Ho Joon. Ho Joon is looking for an apartment, but in every apartment he checks, he always has one problem. Water pressure. Ho Joon is very picky when it comes to the bathroom’s water pressure. While talking to the real estate agent, the latter saw Poongduck’s post on a street bulletin board. While Jae Yoon, a marketing intern, receives praise from their team leader and expects to be a permanent employee soon. But all of them are afraid to be the chosen cast away to be sent to a rural branch by their Notorious Planning Team which didn’t make a profit for the past ten years.
As the episode continues, Jae Yoon makes a phone call to his friend Hocheol who’s staying in his house, telling him he needs a roommate so he can pay mortgages. Jae Yoon told his friend that the renter is coming and he needs to show him the room. After Ho Joon arrived at Poongduck villa, he interrupted Hocheol and immediately checked the bathroom’s shower water pressure. After seeing that it has good pressure, he immediately asks how much the rent is. Jae Yoon, on the other hand, was walking with his officemate when they saw the notice that they are the ones who’ll be the castaway.
After taking a shower, Ho Joon saw an insect on the floor, and he slipped on the floor because of shock. Jae Yoon noticed him lying on the floor as soon as he entered the house, thinking he was just his friend. Jae Yoon didn’t mind him at first. But after realizing he didn’t know the person on the floor and Ho Joon got up, both of them screamed as the towel flew to Jae Yoon’s hand. As the two have their formal conversation, Ho Joon mentions his disappointment towards the house and that he already paid the rental fees. Hocheol didn’t answer Jae Yoon’s phone call. And after the two realize they both got scammed, Ho Joon asks to get his money back but the latter refuses. Jae Yoon also got irritated by his enter’s bratty attitude and Ho Joon decided to book a room in a hotel but all hotels are fully booked.
After not getting any room at a hotel, Ho Joon came back to Poongduck Villa until the money problems got resolved. Jae Yoon is irritated by the latter’s idea but can’t do anything. The next morning, while Jae Yoon is packing his things at the office, he receives a message that they will have a casual meeting with the Team Leader. And at that moment, Jae Yoon discovers that the Team Leader is his irritating roommate, Ho Joon.
In the second episode, Ho Joon woke up seeing his father’s secretary standing beside her bed. After realizing that his father might come, he immediately looked for his shirt. But before he found it, he saw his father standing in front of him and the old man burst out in anger. His father scolded him while he was on his knees because the old man found out that he was dating a competitor’s commercial model.
Even though father can’t take his cynical attitude, he still gave him one last chance. But he has conditions: 1. He needs to return all his cards and he must live on his own for 2 years, and 2. He’ll be appointed as the team leader of the headquarters and he must do whatever he can to make a profit for the company. Ho Joon refuses because he is not interested in business but his father promised that he will return everything to him if he made a profit. His father also ordered the secretary to sell all his cars.
Later that day, Ho Joon met his Uncle at a restaurant for him to sign the contract. Ho Joon asks about his salary and realizes that the first page was missing, when he discovers that his uncle is hiding it from him, he forces him to give it to him and he finds out that his salary is just minimum wage. He refuses to sign the contract.
At the office, their team held a meeting. Ho Joon excuses himself to order coffee while Jae Yoon excuses himself to go to the comfort room. The two met there and because of shock, Jae Yoon suddenly slipped inside the comfort room. Jae Yoon asked the latter if he already knew that he is working in their company, and the latter said he only knew it 12 hours ago. Confused Jae Yoon, asked why the latter didn’t tell him earlier but Ho Joon says he told him, and they both recalled that Ho Joon offered him a ride that morning. He also told Jae Yoon that he reviewed his profile and that he is number one in their department. Ho Joon also told him that they both need to survive so he doesn’t need to act too much as a landlord.
At the Poongduck parking lot, Ho Joon met the tenant in room 303. After a little chit-chat and as the latter handed a bar of imported chocolate to him, he realized that the man is a friend of Jae Yoon’s. At home, Jae Yoon handed Ho Joon the ₩500,000 that Hocheol scammed them. But the latter returned the ₩300,000 as a rental payment. The two had a mini fight but in the end, Ho Joon promised Jae Yoon that if he is still on his team after a month, he will make him a permanent employee.
Episode 3. War and Peace
At the start of episode three, Ho Joon is giving Jae Yoon a hard time in the office. Jae Yoon works late at night to finish all the work that the latter gave him. While working, he unexpectedly wounded his finger. He was shocked when Ho Joon suddenly grabs his hands and asks him if he has plaster on his table. Shocked, Jae Yoon asks back why and said that he just forgot his phone. Ho Joon told the latter that he should take care of himself. At the office pantry, Ho Joon stole his coffee. Because of irritation, he planned to retaliate.
The next morning, Ho Joon saw a ‘no parking’ notice on his car. He asks Jae Yoon what happened and the latter says that the building only gives one space for one apartment and they are counted as one. And even though he doesn’t have a car, he has a bicycle. Both angry at each other, Ho Joon asks if the latter is declaring war and Jae Yoon happily nods. At the office, their co-workers feel tension towards them, and the two ask Ho Joon if they can have a party to make their team closer. They also invited Jae Yoon, but before the latter answers, Ho Joon takes them out of the office. At dinner, one of his team members asks Ho Joon if he feels that Jae Yoon seems tired nowadays. And they are afraid that Jae Yoon might quit because he is a good young employee.
Ho Joon found the angry Jae Yoon on the street, playing. He said that they should stop but the latter refuses. Ho Joon made a deal that whoever punches the game and gets the highest score wins. And if he wins, Jae Yoon will leave the company. And if Jae Yoon wins, the latter will leave the house. After trying several times, Jae Yoon asks if he can kick the equipment and as soon as he kicks the game, his feet suddenly land on Ho Joon’s face, and end up in the hospital ER.
After Jae Yoon says sorry because he felt guilty, he tells Ho Joon that he will resign. But Ho Joon tells him not to because he doesn’t want to train new employees and he doesn’t want other employees to suffer. At home, Jae Yoon prepares dinner for them. Ho Joon asks the latter if he cooks everything, and Jae Yoon says that his mom cooked it and they own a restaurant. Ho Joon envies him for having a mom and the latter doesn’t know how to react but the latter says that he doesn’t have to pity him. Jae Yoon puts food on Ho Joon’s plate and when Ho Joon asks why he did that, he told him that his mom did that too every time he is sick and they should do that because they live together. Ho Joon felt happy after that.
A moment later, Jae Yoon receives a phone call from his old friend Seungsuk. They met at a coffee shop and he offered a product to Jae Yoon. Little did Jae Yoon know that Ho Joon is still waiting for him at the dinner table.
Episode 4. Resemblance of Ogon Bath at the Sea.
After having coffee with Seungsuk, Jae Yoon finds Ho Joon sitting in their living room waiting for him. He asks why he is still awake and the latter said that his forehead aches due to the kick he received earlier. As an apologetic move, Jae Yoon asks the latter to have a drink with him and celebrate their make-up. Jae Yoon made him try a drink that marks him as an Ogon Bath at the Sea. As they enjoy their mini celebration, Ho Joon told Jae Yoon that whenever he drinks a lot, the next day he won’t remember anything.
As the night goes by, Jae Yoon got really drunk and confessed something to Ho Joon. He says that he bought so many unwanted things because the seller is his friend Seungkwan. He also confessed that earlier that night, he bought two chair massagers for him to be the top sales agent again. Jae Yoon confessed to him that no matter how much he does for him, he never really saw his worth as a friend.
The next morning, Ho Joon is late for work and when he arrives, the team asks what happened to his forehead. And he told them that he was kicked. He told them that he experienced a cat slap. But he forgave the cat. Jae Yoon can’t handle the situation anymore, he quietly goes to the pantry. Jae Yoon was shocked when Ho Joon suddenly came at him. He told him that he got late at work because he made him drunk last night. And he asks if Jae Yoon remembers what happened that night, but the latter seems to not remember everything.
At the meeting, Ho Joon praises Jae Yoon’s idea of using influencers as brand models because it’s the new trend. He also ordered Jae Yoon to go with him to the meeting with the other branch. Jae Yoon, who doubts himself, confronts Ho Joon and tells him that he must go with the other employee because he lacks experience. But the latter advises him that he didn’t try hard to enter their company just to be a simple employee. After thinking about what Ho Joon said, Jae Yoon worked the whole night at the office and Ho Joon leaves a snack on his desk with a note ” Work hard and get good results as a reward. Your Team Leader.”
The next day, they went to their supposed meeting with the other branch manager, but the latter is not there and they have to wait for the next week. Seeing an upset Jae Yoon, Ho Joon told him that he will treat him to lunch. But instead of going to a restaurant, Ho Joon brought him to the beach. Ho Joon’s heart melts seeing him appreciate what he has done for him. While having a conversation at the beach, Ho Joon asks why Jae Yoon still works at a company even if he owns a building. Jae Yoon answers that he still has a huge mortgage to pay and that their company pays very well. He also confessed that their family almost went bankrupt because his father’s boiler company ideas got stolen by another company.
In the middle of the conversation, Jae Yoon tells Ho Joon that he already learned something from him. That he shouldn’t miss good opportunities. Ho Joon also confessed that he remembers everything he said the night he got drunk. At the end of the episode, Ho Joon says that the sea is beautiful while looking at Jae Yoon’s face.
The first half of Roommates of Poonguck 304 gave us the start of their love-hate relationship. It starts with hate but blooms into a nice friendship along the way. Stay tuned for the last 4 episodes of this cute romantic comedy series.
