Following plagiarism allegations, ‘The Eighth Sense’ production team released another new statement that includes an update from the relevant parties about the ‘infinity’ logo.
We extend our heartfelt apologies to all the dedicated fans of Infinite, who hold the group’s symbol dear. At The Eighth Sense, we deeply regret the oversight that undermined the significance of the symbol and their devoted fanbase.
While the symbol itself is not trademarked, we have engaged in discussions with all relevant parties to address this matter with utmost respect and consideration. Following extensive deliberation and consultations, we have reached a resolution. The symbol will be allowed to remain in the title sequence, and we commit to refrain from using it in any other marketing contexts. We wholeheartedly embrace this decision and will ensure complete adherence to it. Furthermore, any profits generated from previous sales of the “T8S Infinity Crop Tee” will be directed towards Infinite, with the exception of the promised 10% donation to charity.
Additionally, we kindly request The Eighth Sense fans, should they choose to share the title sequence logo, to provide proper credit and recognition to Infinite. We understand that online platforms, including Twitter, can sometimes harbor negativity and toxicity. Therefore, we earnestly implore both The Eighth Sense and Infinite fans to come together rather than perpetuate division.
This is a moment for us to unite and celebrate the upcoming monumental 13-year anniversary of Infinite, alongside the achievements of The Eighth Sense. Together, let us illuminate the Korean entertainment community with positivity, joy, and love.
We sincerely hope that this situation does not detract from the core message we have strived to convey to The Eighth Sense Fam x FreeBirds – leading with empathy, embracing vulnerability, and finding self-acceptance. Humans make mistakes, and we hope you all can offer us grace and forgiveness.
The Eighth Sense Team
