The upcoming rom-com BL ‘Why R U? Korea’ announced its international platform!
Following ‘Happy Ending Romance’, Idol Romance is coming back with their eight-episode remake of Zee Pruk & Saint Suppapong and Jimmy Karn & Tommy Sittichok hit Thai BL ‘Why R U?’ in four weeks. On August 1st, the production finally announced its international platform along with a short overview.
Although he lacked good grades and height, Lee Won is a passionate individual. One day, he discovered that his younger sister, Lee Jin, kept her computer on until late at night.
“My sister, who can sometimes be a pain… she seems to be writing web novels or something.”
Out of curiosity, Lee Won began reading the text on the monitor.
“Ji-oh… looked down at Lee Won…?!”
Lee Jin is writing a BL (Boys’ Love) novel featuring Lee Won and Ji Oh as the main characters. Moreover she claimed to have witnessed the two of them kissing in real life. In response, Lee won impulsively declared, “If I had thought that kissing Kim Ji Oh at the time was a real thing, then this novel will come true!”
However, after that day, cliche events from the BL novel started happening to the two of them in real life. To make matters worse, their friend Sun Woo also got involved with Yu Gyeom, a senior in the same department. Could it be that Lee Jin’s imagination had truly become a reality?
The ‘Blue of Winter’ actor Lee Jung Min will take the lead role as Jung Lee Won, a young student in the Department of Film and Media majoring in acting at Hankuk University, and paired with Lee Ye Hwan as Kim Ji Oh, a college student studying in the Department of Film and Media majoring in directing at same university and faculty. Meanwhile, Lee Sang Min plays Woo Seon Woo and Park Chang Hoon as Go Yoo Gyeom, both college students majoring in directing and photography at Hankuk University. The drama is helmed by Sunset Studio and Kim Eun Hye.
‘Why R U? Korea’ premieres on August 24th, and will air every Thursday at 11 AM GMT+8 on the global streaming platform, iQIYI. Also available in Taiwan via KKTV and Rakuten TV for Japan.
