‘Happy Merry Ending’ actors Byun Seong Tae, Lee Dong Won, and Shin Myeong Sung talked more about their characters, doing a BL genre, and more.
When asked about the differences between them and the characters they play, Byun Seong Tae says, “Honestly, I’m very different from Jae Hyun. I’m someone who’s usually quiet but Jae Hyun’s whole personality is very energetic. That’s the general difference between (him and I) so I did worry about that at first. Meanwhile, Shin Myeong Sung explains that his real-life long-term friendship with Lee Dong Won helped him with his character.
Of this, he says, “Ho Yeon is someone who is quite indifferent but he is someone who always stayed by Seung Jun’s side, cheering him on. He is actually someone you can call a tsundere. I also have that personality as well so I did relate to Ho Yeon in some aspects. And Dong Won is also my real long-time friend, too. Lee Dong Won added, “(Shin Myeong Sung) is a friend I have known for around 10 years now. Myeong Sung is one of KNK member’s close friend in real life so I never would have thought that we would work on the same drama together. Shin Myeong Sung agreed but said that it was awkward at first working together but as time went on, they became more natural.
When asked about doing a BL genre, Byun Seung Tae answered, “(Happy Merry Ending) is a romance genre, too, like the other dramas I was in like ‘Nevertheless’ and ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’, but the difference is Inwas a supporting actor there. But in ‘Happy Merry Ending’, I get to appear most of the time so the responsibility is bigger. So I felt like I had to do a better job.
