Ahead of the series release tomorrow, the cast of ‘Unintentional Love Story’ held a press conference earlier today, March 16.

With one of the main leads, Cha Seo Won, could not attend the series promotions because he is currently enlisted in the Korean military. But his partner, B1A4’s Gong Chan readily answered questions from the press. Which when he was asked about his thoughts about “taking on the challenge of acting in a BL genre”, he answered, “It’s a genre that’s quite unfamiliar to the public. When I read the original work, I didn’t think much of it, I just saw it as two people who liked and managed to convey their honest feelings to each other. When we were filming, (Cha Seo Won) and I talked a lot about how to express it well and because of that, we just managed to become close and didn’t have any issues at all. We were really comfortable with each other.”

Adding to that, Gong Chan said, “Even though it’s BL, it’s still like a melodrama. I read (the original work) comfortably so I thought people would also be able to watch it comfortably. (The characters’) relationship was someone who they can talk about their secrets with, share their pains with, and be able to heal them as well. I thought that type of relationship was beautiful. I also felt like I was healed (by the drama).”

Director Jang Eui Soon also added, “We focused more on how the actors will be able to mold themselves into the characters. BL is a nice genre and so we wanted to see how well it will go.”
