Episode 5: “Please… I will do everything so this miracle doesn’t end…”
Kazuma’s mother opens the episode, wondering why his son has not visited her in a while, thinking he resents her. She thinks of that incident when he laid his hand on Ren…
Back at work, Kazuma gets scolded by his boss, and as Ren helplessly looks on, he receives a message from his female company senior, Ayumi, asking if they could meet. Ren agrees and they meet at a restaurant where she reveals that the employee who just recently resigned was actually sexually harassed by Sanada, Kazuma’s boss. Ren cautiously asks for more information, and it was then that he learned that the woman tried to run away and it was then that she got injured and was hospitalized. Ayumi also admitted that she was once almost harassed by Sanada, as well, five years ago. She tried to report it but it was covered up and she held it all in because she wanted to keep her job. However, she blamed herself thinking she just did not have the courage to officially report any of it. Ren thanked her and said he will try to help as much as he can.
Back at Kazuma’s home, Ren begins searching for ways to help. Kazuma asks what was wrong, but Ren changed the subject to ask what they will eat for dinner. Kazuma obliged and started making dinner as Ren thinks of his conversation with his female colleague earlier in the day.
The next day, Ren goes to his former colleague, to confirm details of Sanada’s criminal behavior. His former colleague confirmed that Sanada did have a record of doing that to company employees, which is one of the reasons why he had to leave the company. His former colleague agreed to help him out, especially with a victim coming forward.
After meeting his former colleague, Ren gave his friend Ryonosuke a call asking for legal help. He agreed to help him out, and now speaking as a friend, he asked about Ren and Kazuma’s relationship. Ren slyly says it’s the same and teasingly hangs up. Ryonosuke remembers the time when Ren first came to the French boarding school, where he was incredibly unsociable. Ryonosuke only remembers Ren trying to call, but never really talking to anyone. However, despite no one picking up calls, Ren continues to call. Ryonosuke felt bad for him because he was isolated and never talked especially because Ren didn’t even know the French language. One day, Ryonosuke saw that Ren was injured, but he refused for him to get help. Ren still refuses to open up about what happened, despite Ryonosuke’s kindness. When asked what he most wanted to do, Ren only said he wants to make a phone call, and so he called again. However, the phone number that he was calling was suddenly disconnected and Ren felt like the last connection between him and Kazuma was suddenly cut off. As a desperate attempt, Ren called their classmate, Hide. In shock, Hide asked how he is and that everyone was worried for him. Hide said that Kazuma flew to the US right after he was discharged from the hospital, and mentioned that there were “weird rumors” about them. But Ren didn’t really hear anything else except that Kazuma was alive, which was what he wanted to know all along.
