Will things get more complicated now that Izumi admitted that he has feelings for Haruto? Let’s find out in episode 6 of ‘Ossan’s Love Returns‘.
Haruta and Maki decided to hold a wedding ceremony for Valentine’s Day! The couple finally found the time to hold a wedding just to officially show their love for each other, despite acting like they’re already married for a while. But there are so many things to prepare for – and they can’t even agree on which cake to have on their wedding day. Things don’t go smoothly, especially when Maki couldn’t even make it to their meeting with the organizers of their wedding. Haruta was incredibly disappointed, but good thing is that Chief Kurosawa, who was passing by, was suddenly available (He re-scheduled his meeting)! So the two go to the wedding organizers and Chief Kurosawa expertly gave his advice on which ones to cut down and which ones to keep, which greatly delighted Haruta. Before parting ways, Chief Kurosawa tells Haruta not to be too disappointed in Maki, especially since there might be a good reason that he couldn’t go.
When he gets home, he was put in a corner with Kiku who asked him to pretend to be Akito as a ghost, in a last-ditch effort for Izumi to move on (he was busted pretty quickly). The next day, Maki apologized about not being able to go to him yesterday, but Haruta assured him that he understands because he knows it’s a work issue. They make plans to do tuxedo fittings today after work. At the office, Izumi and Haruta talk about yesterday and Izumi assured him that he has moved on. But it doesn’t seem to be truthful since Izumi still asked Takegawa about how to move on from a previous relationship. Unbeknownst to him, Kiku has decided to move out of their shared home.
Back to the husbands, Maki is once again tied up at work due to an error by his colleagues. So, he ends up still not able to go through with the tuxedo fitting with Haruta. But Chief Kurosawa is, once again, to the rescue! He accompanies his “son” to the shop and helps himchoose the tuxedo for the both of them. Maki finally arrives, but he’s both late and tired from work. Haruta was frustrated that Maki was not showing the same enthusiasm as he is in their wedding, leading to an almost lover’s spat which was stopped by Chief Kurosawa. Maki ended up going home earlier than Haruta, who stopped by to see Chizu at the restaurant. They talked about “marriage blues” and how Haruta was probably experiencing them. Haruta goes home and ponders about “marriage blues” and sees a tired Maki who was still arranging flowers. He walked away, not realizing Maki heard him muttering about it.
Chief Kurosawa, on the other hand, sees Kiku on his onigiri truck. Kiku doesn’t tell him about how he moved out at first, and lied about taking a rest on his truck. But eventually, he seemed to admit the situation to him and Kiku ended up on Chief Kurosawa’s house. There, the wise old man tells him about his own experience about moving on from a one-sided love, where the two share the same experience.
At work, Izumi asks Haruta if Kiku was staying with him, to which he said he wasn’t. Haruta was suddenly reminded of Kiku saying he “plans to graduate” from his love for Izumi, which led to him saying that it was probably Izumi’s fault. Izumi was surprised, but he pondered about that thought. Meanwhile, Kiku was still staying at Chief Kurosawa’s house, feeling dejected about only being a “little brother” to Izumi, whom he has fallen in love with.
