Two strangers bond through notes and lunchboxes in ‘I Hear the Sunspot‘, premiering tomorrow!
‘I Hear the Sunspot‘ follows Kohei, who feels isolated due to his hearing disability, as he meets the cheerful Taichi. Taichi reassures him that his hearing loss isn’t his fault. Taichi’s words touch Kohei deeply, and their relationship, which is more than friendship but not quite romance, transforms Kohei’s life. The series initially gained a movie adaptation that garnered great feedback from viewers and now the TV remake of the series will have twelve episodes starring Nakazawa Motoki and Kobayashi Toranosuke as Sugihara Kohei and Sagawa Taichi, respectively.
In the newly released trailer for the first episode, Kohei and Taichi meet in college when, one day, as Kohei is about to eat his lunch alone as usual, his classmate Taichi suddenly appears. Taichi, who had been fired from his part-time job and was feeling hungry, is given lunch by Kohei. Due to Kohei’s hearing impairment, he has trouble fitting in, so as a thank you for lunch, Taichi proposes writing notes for Kohei in exchange for lunch boxes. This unusual arrangement ignites a bittersweet and fleeting love story.
