The TV series remake of the popular manga ‘Hidamari ga Kikoeru,’ which already received a movie adaptation, will premiere on July 3!
Drama NEXT announced a TV series remake for Fumino Yuki’s original work, ‘Hidamari Ga Kikoeru’ (I Hear the Sunspot), and its sequel, I Hear the Sunspot: Theory of Happiness, which will premiere on July 3rd. The work was previously adapted into a movie that was released in 2017 and received great feedback from viewers for its heartwarming portrayal and handling of the issues faced by the hearing impaired. The story follows Kohei, who feels isolated due to his hearing disability, as he meets the cheerful Taichi. Taichi reassures him that his hearing loss isn’t his fault. Taichi’s words touch Kohei deeply, and their relationship, which is more than friendship but not quite romance, transforms Kohei’s life.
The manga was serialized by Canna and was published in English as ‘I Hear the Sunspot’ by One Peace Books on August 15, 2017. Nakazawa Motoki and Kobayashi Toranosuke will star as Sugihara Kohei and Sagawa Taiichi, respectively. This will be their first lead role in a series. Kawazaki Izumi, who was the scriptwriter for the first and second installment of ‘A Man Who Defies the World of BL’ will be in charge of the script for the upcoming series.
